Andie had a controlling father named Jason, a mother named Dawn, and a younger sister named Becca, whom along with Andie people said they looked just like each other. Andie dated another student, Sal Singh, to whom her father was a terrible racist. Andie became rebellious over the years, seeking relationships with older men, including her English teacher and tutor, Elliot Ward, and Daniel da Silva, one of Jason's employees who would later grow into being a police constable.

But Andie also made terrible decisions that put people she loved in danger. When she affiliated with playboy Max Hastings, he the nudes of Andie'a friend and Dan's sister, Nat da Silva, on the Internet. Andie wanted to elope with Sal, so she sold drugs for the money. Hastings bought roofies from her, which he used when he raped Becca at a calamity party. Sal found out and was ready to breakup, but Andie pleaded for him to stay with her, so he agreed.

Jason knew Andie was seeing Sal and tried to make her break it off, but she refused and was ready to run off with Sal. Pip Fitz-Amobi was one of the last people to see the couple, Andie making a gesture to shush Andie about her being at school the night she disappeared. Pip led Sal to where Andie was, and Pip was always afraid that decision got Andie killed later, when it didn't and Andie's motion to Pip was never about him. Andie went to Elliot, saying she'd report him if he didn't give her £2000. Elliot shoved her into a countertop, which caused her to have a severe head injury. She stumbled back to her home and, in her wounded state, tried to ask the same thing of Becca. Becca wanted to report Hastings for rape, which is when Andie admitted she provided the rohypnol for the rape. Becca killed her by shoving her again, then sank her remains into the bottom of a well.

Jason was briefly suspected when driving his van around the time of Andie's disappearance, but he was cleared when he explained himself and gave an alibi. Becca threw off the timeline, as she drove Andie's car to transport her remains. There were multiple fictitious sightings of her over the years, all debunked. But ultimately, Sal was set up as a patsy. Elliot didn't want to be caught, so as he knew his daughter Naomi, Hastings, and their friends severely injured a man in a car crash and covered it up, he blackmailed them into deleting exculpatory evidence of Sal's alibi. He then drugged and smothered Sal, leaving him in the woods to frame him. The setup was generally accepted as a closure of the case, but Andie was never found.

Pip herself reopened the case for her EPQ. It cost her so much, including nearly her friendships, her dog Barney when Elliot let him out and Becca killed him, and even her safety was endangered, when Elliot tried to hold her captive with another teenage girl, Isla, and Becca also nearly killed Pip. When all was said and done, the two of them were arrested, and Pip and Isla were rescued. Andie's remains were retrieved from the well, and Sal was exonerated.
