Andre Drazen

Andre Drazen

Andre Drazen is the secondary antagonist of the first season of 24. He is the son of Victor Drazen.

He was portrayed by Željko Ivanek, who also played Phillip Swann in Law & Order, Mark Jennings in Tex, and Cordell Doemling in Hannibal.

Biography

After Victor Drazen was presumed dead, but in reality was imprisoned, Andre and his brother Alexis Drazen began a plan to rescue him and get revenge on Jack Bauer and David Palmer for trying to kill him (and inadvertently killing their mother and sister). Andre hired Ira Gaines to hold Jack's family hostage, assassinate Palmer and frame Jack, but this plan failed, and Gaines was killed.

Afterward, Alexis stepped up, killing the remains of Gaines's crew. However, he was stabbed and mortally wounded by Elizabeth Nash. Despite Jack's attempts to prevent him from doing so, Andre and his men broke into the prison facility where Victor was imprisoned and rescued him. Andre and Victor captured Jack, but CTU exchanged Alexis for Jack. Alexis died shortly after.

Andre's men also kidnapped Kim to gain leverage over Jack, but she escaped, so Andre and Victor told Nina Myers to tell Jack that Kim was dead, so that he would come to them so they could kill him. This led to a final confrontation at the docks, in which Jack engaged both Drazens in a climactic gunfight. Once Jack got close enough, he killed Andre with a single gunshot to the chest.
