Andrew Croft is a supporting antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Wrong Is Right". He is a pedophile who conspired with fellow child molester Craig Prince to abuse his ward, Michael Goren.
Biography[]
Past[]
Croft used several aliases and raped several young boys across Canada and California. He was convicted and forced to register as a sex offender, under the alias George Kazinski.
He eventually became a Weapons Manufacturer at Radio Velocity, where he designed weapons guidance systems for the U.S. military during the first Gulf War. This was due to the influence of his friend, boss, and fellow pedophile Craig Prince, who abused his position as the company's head to hide Croft's criminal past, so he could get a job. He and Prince also kidnapped a young boy in Belgium, raping and murdering him; Prince used his clout with the military to have the murder covered up.
While in Belgium, Croft befriended the Goren family and took a specific interest in their son Michael always going to his sports games. When Michael's parents died in a car accident, Croft adopted him and subjected Michael to sexual abuse throughout his childhood, soon he invited Prince to join in on the assaults. Soon Croft and Michael moved to Millbrook Township, New York, where it was discovered that Prince is one of their neighbors with his house being up the street and the abuse intensified. When Michael was a teenager, Croft tried to abuse Michael's visiting friend Danny Burrell in front of him. However, Burrell fought him off while cutting ties with Michael after he didn't help.
"Wrong Is Right"[]
Eventually, Michael reached his breaking point, leading him to shoot and kill Croft, while setting his genitals on fire as revenge for years of abuse. Michael then took off in Croft's car. Croft's body was found on the side of the road by Detective Elliot Stabler of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit who called it in.
While investigating Croft's murder, Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit find his employment history at Radio Velocity. Prince meets with two other SVU detectives, John Munch and Monique Jeffries, but volunteers' little information on Croft. Soon Munch and Jeffries uncover Croft's history of sex offenses, with them finding him to be a serial rapist in America and Canada while wondering how his history allowed him to adopt Michael or work at Radio Velocity. When Prince was confronted, he feigns ignorance and smugly says that any crime Croft committed is "not our concern".
After Michael is found and arrested for murdering Croft, he admits to the crime, claiming the gun went off in a struggle. Unfortunately, Michael refuses to admit that Croft sexually abused him especially after Croft's history was discovered. SVU also found Burrell who soon understood why Michael did not help after his childhood abuse was revealed. Once Michael was taken to trial, he tried to continue his lie of getting into fight with Croft until Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot pokes holes in his story and reveals that Burrell was willing to testify that Michael witnessed his near assault and manages to persuade him to tell the truth of his past assaults. Michael reluctantly reveals Croft abused him throughout most of his life and admits that he was scared to come clean because there was a second abuser who had connections. Cabot was able to get his testimony by saying that he is safe in police custody. Michael then identifies Prince as his second abuser, while also telling her of their history in Belgium.
Munch and Stabler confront Prince in front of his colleagues during a Radio Velocity meeting, where they reveal that Michael's testimony got him a reduced sentence before proceeding to arrest and expose Prince him as a child molester and abusing his position to aid in criminal activity.
