Fox is a fool and he'll pay a fool's price.
~ Andross to a captive Slippy.

Andross is the main antagonist of Benimaru Itoh's Star Fox comic published in Nintendo Power.

Appearance[]

Andross is an elderly simian with a full head of grey hair and a beard. He primarily wears a red coat. In his youth, he had brown hair.

Powers and Skills[]

Andross is a scientific genius who can build machinery and pilot it. He also holds command over humanoid lizards when it comes to his conquests.

Biography[]

Andross once had two upstanding foster parents who were android pigs who lived on Corneria until the day they were destroyed by an army experiment on Corneria, feeling vengeful for their demise, he joined the academy to learn how he can plot revenge. Later when Andross was a scientist on Corneria, he had become the brilliant yet also unstable leader of the Academy where he built Hyperlight Drives, Polo Pigs, Antigravity Machinery, and androids. This all came to an end when Andross built a Gravity Bomb for Fox Sr. to test in the asteroid bet with the bomb detonating which lead to a black hole opening and sucking in Fox Sr.'s ship, and half the asteroids but this did not kill the elder McCloud, it warped gim to another dimension where he joined the crew of a whale-like spaceship.

This lead to Andross being expelled to the ends of the universe with one of his android pigs. But managed to return to the Lylat System and set base on Venom where he found a lost civilization with primitive lizards in its vicinity, having found that there was a more ancient race on Venom, he investigated a collapsing library where he learned the secrets of the ancient race and learned how to build the Telekinetic Amplifier and hypnotize the lizards with it. When Fox Jr. protested this growing power, terrified leaders of Corneria expelled the future Star Fox to Papetoon and Pepper could not stop this as he was a sergeant during the exile.

Star Fox is introduced raiding a ship belonging to Andross, one of the things they stole was an Android pig named Herbert, which was one of his favorite things. Soon they receive a message from General Pepper who recruits them to pilot the SFX Arwing to fight Andross's growing army and will be rewarded if they accept his offer. However, Andross's lizard army is attacking Corneria as the message was being sent which is why Pepper is recruiting them. As they stowed away on a ship to reach Pepper, Star Fox finds themselves in the crossfire of Andross's imperial lizards as the latter attack the ship and promptly fight them off.

While training, Star Fox's Arwings end up in territory occupied by a faction of Andross's army who setup a trap for them which is for them to be ambushed by their Battle Attack Carrier. But in the end, it got shot down with no casualties inflicted on Star Fox who proceeded to destroy the Rock Crusher based in the asteroid belt and the space armada which later leads to their ultimate target being Andross's base on Planet Venom.

As Fara was talking with Pepper, the glass window breaks apart where they and everyone else is greeted by Andross via a projection who found Fox a strain on his patience and as payback for wiping out Andross's division on Corneria, taking out his defense forces, and stealing Herbert, he will be killed by his Telekinetic Amplifier. Fox and Fara blast through the black hole where Fox's father guided them out where they find themselves on Venom where the main division of Andross's army confronts them with Andross bearing witness to it and tells Herbert that they will be awaiting a horrible end.

Fox pushes through where he is confronted by a massive metal face constructed by Andross to kill Fox the moment he enters its vicinity. Andross orders more power from Herbert not knowing Peppy destroyed him and Fox proceeds to shoot his machine's eyes out and destroy its core. Following this, many lizards that were on Andross's side end up reforming as the machine, the Telekinetic Amplifier, had brainwashed them. However, there was one lizard that was on Andross's side that proceeded to kidnap Slippy and steal an Arwing while also knocking out another mechanic. It was also discovered that a group of hostile stingrays that destroyed a cargo ship were brainwashed thanks to antennas implanted on them. Slippy is brought before Andross on Planet Fortuna who still had other devices to restore his power again.

Andross is also seeking revenge on Fox for his defeat by having the stingrays brainwashed to do his bidding. When Star Fox arrive on Fortuna, Andross has two of the remaining soldiers on his side lock Slippy up while he prepares the Monarch Dodora to kill his teammates. However, Slippy manages to use a piece of his necklace to break free and incapacitates the lizards in the control room. This prompts Andross to manually control the Dodora from the Speeder Pod with the help of Herbert II just as Star Fox shows up. As the fight between them and the Dodora rages on, Star Fox attack the antenna attached to the creature on Slippy's suggestion. This results in Andross being crushed to death with Herbert mourning his demise.

Herbert heads for the ruins of Andross's base on Venom where Andross recorded a message instructing the android to take the sample of Andross's hair so that his dna can be extracted from it and combined with amino acid to revive Andross via a pair of clones. The clones then decide to invade Papetoon for another strike against Fox McCloud with a fleet of warships while a parade is happening. They then proceed to launch an attack on arrival, blasting away two of the Arwings, leaving Star Fox with three. Just then, one of the Andross clones wanted Fara spared when he mistook her for the late Vixy, leading to an argument between them.

The Andross clone, still under the impression that Fara is Vixy, apologizes to her for getting her (Vixy) killed in when she got in her husband's car thanks to Andross sabotaging it with the intent to kill him instead. Annoyed with the red clad clone's behavior, the green clad Andross clone arms himself and kills the clone. Just then, he orders one of his men to stop Star Fox from destroying the energy core. But Star Fox destroyed the core, forcing Andross and Herbert to escape with Andross on the Dancing Insector. Fox chases Andross while his teammates attack his forces. After being defeated, Andross retreats with Herbert into the black hole. But Fox assures his father will take care of the duo after they escape into the black hole.
