Biography[]
Angel-Face is the leader of a four-man group of poachers living in frontier wilderness of 1755, who make a living off of illegally and unethically hunting wild animals for their pelts to sell. After a successful hunt, a blizzard sweeps through the forest, prompting them to take shelter at the tavern of Jean-Pierre Dupont a former French soldier who lost his sight. Also staying there are the Mohicans and their allies with the captive Magwa. Angel-Face and his men are disgusted at the fact that Indians are allowed to sit in the tavern as well, mocking them with racist insults. When White Fawn, Dupont's Native step-daughter, arrives to pour their drinks, Angel-Face and his men start harrasssing and sexually insulting her. In order to prevent the Mohicans and their friends from interfering, Angel-Face has his men hold them at gunpoint. Believing her to be a slave, Angel-Face attempts to barter for White Fawn, intending to rape her. Dupont declares she is not for sail and demands that Angel-Face and his friends leave, which he refuses causing the old man to punch in the face. In anger, Angel-Face attacks DuPont and White Fawn, prompting the Mohicans and their allies to act. During the fight Angel-Face is disarmed and held by Major Duncan. Challenging Duncan to a fist fight, the two take off their shirts and spar which results in Angel-Face's humiliating defeat. Defeated, the poachers leave the tavern but Angel-Face desires revenge. Retrieving some explosive power, he and his friends surround the tavern preparing to set it a blaze with everyone inside. Climbing to the roof, Angel-Face drops an explosive down the chimney resulting in a explosion that kills DuPont and sets the tavern ablaze. Angel-Face and his men stand guard outside preparing to shoot the survivors when they attempt to escape the burning tavern. However, the Mohicans and their group use a secret underground tunnel to sneak up behind the poachers and hold them at gunpoint.
Soon after however, the captive Magwa breaks free of his restraints and holds Alice at gunpoint. Using this as an opportunity, Angel-Face orders the poachers to attack while Magwa escapes with Alice. During the fight, Angel-Face's men are killed and he ends up being shot by Hawkeye. Though the Mohicans believes him dead, Angel-Face survives the bullet and manages to escape while they pursue Magwa. Though seriously wounded, he manages to make it back to his cabin before he passes out. Fortunately for him, the cabin was at the time occupied by Cora Monroe, the one the heroes seek to rescue. Not realizing who he is, Cora nurses Angel-Face back to health. When eating super together, Angel-Face shows his racist attitude towards Native Americans and lies about the Mohicans attacking the tavern and killing Dupont, when in actuality he and his men were the ones responsible, Cora however, realizes he is lying when he reveals that Great Serpent was among the Indians, and swiftly realizes that he is one who burned the tavern. Tricking him into wandering outside, Cora locks him out of the cabin and leaves him to freeze in the midst another blizzard. Retrieving an axe from an outside shed, Angel-Face begins furiously hacking down the door attempting to get back inside. Cora attempts to use a gun to shoot him just as he begins breaking through but misses. Angel-Face manages to get inside and restrains Cora, but before he attempts to strangle her demands to know how she realized he was lying earlier. When Cora reveals that Great Serpent is a friend of hers Angel-Face answers that her being the friend of an Indian makes killing her only more pleasurable. He starts choking her and nearly kills, however his attempt on her life is stopped when Magwa arrives and throws a knife right into Angel-Face's back, killing him.
