Background[]
At some unknown point in time, he assembled a drug syndicate group known as Red Phoenix composing of his wife and daughter, alongside with Roy and Mr. Wu. With his drug dealing business, he partnered with some of the notorious drug dealers in Manila such as Ramon Montenegro and Augustus Pacheco.
One time, during a wedding of his grandson, he confronted Amanda, the partner of Augustus in their syndicate for her failure to deliver their supplies and decided to ask to one of his former partners Ramon. On the same time, he was arrested by the authorities as commanded by Augustus. He learns that they were betrayed by Augustus and Amanda, hatching their vengeance for their arrest.
Later on, he was acquitted with the Red Phoenix by their crimes thanks to Ramon getting back their trust with the latter and reforming their partnership in their drug trafficking business. With his continuation of their drug dealing business, Roy introduced Tanggol to him after the latter aggressively confronted the former for his reckless driving. He introduced Tanggol that their product is selling imported pork and beans but actually a smuggled drug for them to hide their business to the authorities.
Tanggol then learns that his syndicate is involved in drugs and stole his wealth and drugs and commanded his henchmen to capture them but failed to stop Tanggol. As he lost the drugs and money for their transaction with Ramon, this caused them to have a feud between their groups. However, he decided to continue their partnership and find a way to pay their debts to Ramon.
He was soon able to pay their debt to Ramon, but unfortunately they were ambushed by Tanggol and Bubbles as they were hired by their former business partner Mr. Salazar. However, he survived the shootout alongside with Roy and as they were about to be transferred in to the prison, they were ambushed by Mr. Salazar’s men but were rescued by Tondo Gang. Upon meeting Lucio and the gang, he recruited them to be new members of Red Phoenix and tasked them to eliminate Amanda, Tanggol, and Ramon. As he continues to lead the syndicate, he once again connected with Augustus Pacheco and his forces to obtain more power and connections in the syndicate.
Later on, Augustus ends his association once again with him causing them to have feud once again. He then assigned his men to ambush Augustus in retaliation for the latter’s betrayal. Days after Red Phoenix’s failed assassination attempt of Augustus, Lucio and Santino betrayed him by assassinating him during a transaction with his business partners.
Personality[]
For being a businessman, he is seen to be opportunistic and business-minded individual as he believes that this helps him to gain more fortune and power. He also notes that in business there is partnership but there are no friends nor enemies, indicating he only cares about their connections to his allies in gaining fortune but not with their personal bonds to each other. For being smart in business, he has also good leadership quality as he is able to run his syndicate efficiently. This was seen when the syndicate stoled Ramon’s resources and decided to make partnership with Augustus who have attempted to take them down previously, indicating that he only cares is gaining wealth disregarding their bonds.
Among the shown villains in the series, he is the one shown to be calm despite of his opportunistic nature. This was also seen when Ramon confronted them for losing his supplies to Tanggol, wherein he patiently asked Mr. Wu who’s having tension with Ramon that they should just continue their partnership with Ramon despite of their growing tension.
