Biography[]

Angris McBragg is an evil sorcerer who feeds on negative energy. Using his magic, Angris makes people lose hope in themselves which makes him stronger. The night before Christmas, when Santa Claus decides to abandon his workshop for there were far more naughty people than nice, Angris sneaks into a town with his minion Thomas to cause mischief. He proceeds to disable the lighting of a Christmas tree and summon hands from his staff to lift a cat from the ground onto the top of a tree. When a boy sees the cat meowing for help, Angris pulls the boy's hat over his eyes and pushes him in the snow. He then nearly causes the blind girl Ella to walk right into traffic by causing her guide dog Truman to hallucinate before fleeing on his flying sleigh. Later that night, as Ella slept, Truman runs away for he felt himself unworthy of being Ella's guide.

Meanwhile, the intergalactic Good Soul, sensing the mass negativity from Earth, sends the soulmates Orion and Orillia to restore balance between good and evil. They find the reindeer Comet who was out searching for Santa and agree to help him. Suddenly, a supersonic sleigh rushes past them and captures Orillia, with Comet and Orion believing it to be Santa's and follow it. They eventually find Santa resting on a bench next to Truman and try to convince him to return to the North Pole. He refuses as he was convinced nobody believed in him nor the spirit of Christmas.

Back at the North Pole, the elves hear chuckling on the rooftop of the workshop and think Santa had returned. However, it is revealed to be Angris instead, having found the workshop's coordinates by having Thomas disguise himself as an elf. Angris announces himself as the new Santa and reveals that he kidnapped Orillia. He boasts his plans to have the elves mass-produce "Doubting Thomas" dolls, dolls resembling Thomas that will spread bad influences and make every boy and girl doubt themselves. After the elves are forced to create the doubtful dolls, Angris demonstrates their ability by using one on Orillia, brainwashing her into believing she was hopeless and aggressive, making her lose contact with Orion.

With help from Comet, Orion makes him believe in a wish to produce soulmate energy, which the Good Soul uses to purify Orillia and Thomas, turning them both good. However, Angris catches them and orders them to stand out of his way or else he will use the doll's hypnotism on both of them. Meanwhile, Santa finds a letter written by an anonymous child asking for his help to bring their lost friend home (really Ella who was looking for Truman). Realizing that some people still believed in him, Santa has Truman guide him to the North Pole since he couldn't see well without his glasses.

Once his collection of evil toys was completed, Angris orders the head elf Pops to harness up the sleigh. Pops tells Angris that the reindeer have not yet returned from their search, to which Angris demands that the elves be harnessed instead. Suddenly, Santa arrives alongside Orion, Truman, and Comet to confront Angris. Angris attempts to use one of his toys onto Santa, only for the doll to encourage Santa to believe in himself, as the soulmate energy coming from Santa was strong enough to turn all the evil toys good. Overwhelmed, Angris makes a run for it and escapes on his sleigh before the soulmates could capture him.

With Christmas saved, Santa spreads the good Thomas dolls to every child, Truman reunites with Ella, and the Good Soul congratulates Orion and Orillia for accomplishing their task.

Trivia[]

  • A running gag in the special has Angris continuously smack his head against the ceiling of the elf workshop, to which Thomas mentions that his boss gets very angry when he suffers migraines.
