The Armor Stands are the main antagonists of the Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts Season 5 episode "Hardcore Manhunt".
They are a group of six sentient Minecraft armor stands that were given life by Yellow to serve him and his friends. There were originally seven of them, but once a mysterious glitch forced the world into Hardcore Mode and Green killed one to test the mode's permanent death function, the remaining six turned against their masters in fear they will be next.

They are six armor stands wearing netherite armor. Each one has different armor trim on each armor stand.
Biography[]
Hardcore Manhunt[]
After Yellow uses the Command Block Staff to create a house for him and his friends in a nice biome, he creates seven armor stands and gives life to them to work as the Stick Gang's servants, carrying their items and later playfighting with Green. Suddenly, a mysterious black wave crashes through them and glitches out one of their chests. The Stick Gang's attempts to undo it prove futile, with the corrupted block infecting Yellow's staff and briefly sending everything into chaos before forcing the world into Hardcore Mode.
The heroes are confused by what that means, as they've never interacted with Hardcore before. Upon seeing that the heart icons were modified, Red tries to beat Green to death to test what it does, but the Second Coming stops him and instead offers one of the armor stands. Knowing that they all just respawn on beds once they die, the gang lets Green beat the stand to death, only to be shocked when it doesn't respawn; Hardcore makes death permanent. The remaining stands are thrown into chaos as the Stick Gang tries to figure out where the stand went.
One of the stands takes control of the others and establishes itself as the leader, convincing its fellow stands to kill the Stick Gang in revenge and before they kill them first. Equipping their netherite armor and weapons, they try to fight the gang but are too intimidated by Yellow's staff to try; suddenly, the corrupted staff corrodes into nothingness, destroyed. Now defenseless, the Stick Gang runs for its life as the armor stands chase them down.
After a long chase, the Stick Gang builds a cobblestone tower to hide for safety at the very top. The stands spend the next few nights building a house while trying to climb up and kill their creators. Once phantoms arrive due to the gang's insomnia, they mount them and try to fly away, however one of the six stands grabs onto Green's phantom as it flies off. In the mid-air scuffle, two phantoms are killed and the remaining four fly away as the Stick Gang and the armor stand fall down into the powdered snow.
Trivia[]
- Series creator Alan Becker admitted that if Season 5 was made after the Copper Golems were added into Minecraft proper, he would've used those instead of armor stands.
