~ Roycewood to every kidnapped victim. |
Anita Roycewood is the main antagonist of the Criminal Minds episode "Mosley Lane". She and her husband, Roger, are a husband-and-wife killing team, in which she is the dominant partner.
She is portrayed by Beth Grant, who also portrayed Eloise Lund in Willy's Wonderland and The Woman With Hair But No Beard in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Biography[]
Little is known of Anita's past other than that she owned a funeral home and married Roger, an electrician. In 1999, Anita and Roger abducted a girl named Karla Hartaway and kept her as if she was their own child. They repeated the process every year, and whenever their captives grew too old or uncontrollable, Anita would knock them unconscious and kill them by burning them alive. On March 3, 2002, the Roycewoods abducted Charlie Hillridge, who they used as an accomplice to their crimes.
Mosley Lane[]
In the present day, Anita distracts a mother at a theme park by calling for her son, allowing Roger to abduct a little girl named Aimee Lynch. The FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) are called in to investigate the abduction, and with the help of Sarah Hillridge, whose child was abducted years ago, they are able to connect Aimee's abduction to a string of past abductions. Meanwhile, Anita beats and kills one of the captive children, Stephen Sheperd, after she catches him talking to Aimee.
However, the BAU track her down, and on realizing that they are onto her, she attempts to murder and cremate the remaining children in order to destroy the evidence. When she attempts to kill Aimee, however, Charlie gets a hold of her gun and shoots her dead.
