Around this time Wayne had later ordered a man named Lyle to assassinate Ann. However Lyle had arrived a week later, and Michael Williams who was jobless, decided to take the job, finding out it was his wife, and confronted Ann to not take her life. Ann decided to triple his payment to kill Wayne, but Michael decided to leave Red Rock West, upon being given half of the money, only to accidentally run over a man.

Michael takes the man to a hospital, and is accused of homicide, the latter would be forced to travel to the forest with Wayne, attempting to kill Michael but escapes.

Ann also has her way with Michael, which allows Michael to get on Ann's side and return to the hideout. As they find a safe with money, they are forced to hide and Michael learns that she and Wayne are criminals, and Wayne is arrested. The Sheriff also confirms that the FBI who are on the way to Red Rock West.

Michael, enraged, decides to leave, but is stuck with Ann once more when Lyle arrives and apprehends him and Ann. Placing them both in his car, and Lyle burns Ann's house to lure the authorities from Wayne, this allows Lyle kill one of the guards, and get Wayne out of prison.

Ann tries at a desperate plea, and they need to leave, Michael stows the apology and admits they need to work together.

However they are spotted when Michael takes too long to free Ann.

Wayne leads Michael to the rest of the money. At night, Lyle forces Wayne to open the safe, but has the advantage when holding Lyle at gunpoint. However Lyle throws a knife from his sleeve, at William's throat, incapacitating him, to allow Ann to disarm a wounded Wayne, while Michael pins Lyle to a statue with a sword. Lyle is able to free himself from the statue and try to kill Michael only to be shot multiple times, fatally by Ann herself. Ann manages to get the cash in a bag The police then arrive and duo attempt to escape via train.

In the train, Ann betrays Michael, wielding a gun at him, revealing to him that she shot the Ranch hand, thus starting this whole fiasco and tries to kill Michael, who discovers the rest of the money, Ann pulls the trigger, instead shocked to find no bullets. Without any means of getting the money the easy way, Ann as a last ditch effort, tries to plead with Michael, who pours all of the money out of the train. Horrified, Ann hysterically swears at Michael, who throws her out of train, claiming that if she still wants the money, she can go it. Ann is sent to the ground, recovering, all she can do is scold Michael, as the police show up, and finally arrest her and Wayne.
