Anslo Garrick is the main antagonist of episodes 9 and 10 of the first season of The Blacklist.

Anslo is an intelligent mercenary and expert in escape and tracking and is the leader of a group of mercenaries who have fought in various wars, many of them are mercenaries who have fought mostly in Africa and without following any political flag.

He was portrayed by Ritchie Coster who also played Dietrich Banning in The Tuxedo,The Chechen in The Dark Knight, Mark Bruner in Law & Order, Carlo Parisi in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Arthur Blisterman in CSI: Las Vegas, and Pope in The Walking Dead.

Biography

Past

In the past Anslo has helped free and escape many prisoners.

At one point in 2008 Anslo teamed up with Raymond Reddingtong but after they were shot by an FBI team led by Donald Ressler who almost killed Red, in revenge Red shot them in the head but Garrick survived and spent 5 years in a prison described as a “black hole”.  To remind himself of the accident, Garrick never had the facial scarring repaired by surgery.

Present

Anslo organized an attack on the FBI Black Site known as the Post Office. After attacking it, his gunmen entered and shot anyone who resisted, including Special Agent Donald Ressler.

Reddington will enter the security cage and lock himself with Ressler but after treating him Anslo gets tired and starts killing hostages including Red's assistant who, enraged, opens the cage and allows himself to be kidnapped, the men will escape with Red but will lose Donald who will be taken by the FBI.

After capturing Red he begins to torture him but Reddington finally manages to free himself and kill Anslo by cutting his throat.
