Antares is the main antagonist of the Korean dark fantasy manhwa and novel series Solo Leveling. He is the Monarch of Destruction and the King of the Dragons, as well as the leader of the other Monarchs.

Appearance[]
Antares' true appearance is presumably his dragon form. During his initial appearances, he presented himself in the body of a middle-aged man with long crimson red hair, a short beard, sharp eyebrows and eyes with black sclera and glowing orange irises. His body is covered by an armor with reddish-brown tailcoat, many skeletal motives around and a collar. His human form also easily tricked many into believing that he was just a regular man when he entered the human world during his entrance in the United States.
Antares' dragon form easily surpasses the size of his minions, having glowing burning hot scales all over his body as noted by Jinwoo and eyes of a fearsome glowing red colors. His head also has several horns.

Like his alias suggests, his destiny was to unleash destruction to everywhere and naturally viewed humans as inferior and unworthy beings. Nevertheless, his hobby of causing chaos can be changed when Sun Jinwoo offered to assist him in the war against the rulers. However, before he even reveals his the devastation that he caused with his powers, he shows to act very honorable in public, especially considering that he cut deals whatever someone that isn't stronger than him can even impress.
Powers and Abilities[]

Antares is the strongest Monarch of all the nine known in the series, except for Ashborn, the Shadow Monarch who possesses superior physical strength. However, as a whole, not even the Shadow Monarch can surpass his overall capabilities.
- Dragon Transformation: Antares can switch between his usual human appearance and his true dragon form as well as being capable of transforming certain parts of his body, such as his arm to attack while still remaining in his human form.
- Immense Speed and Reflexes: Without much efforts, the Monarch of Destruction can hold Jinwoo single handly, most of his attacks and predicts his movements. However, he struggles to move at such speed in his dragon form, due to his large size.
- Telepathy: Antares can be seen to communicate with his fellow Monarchs by mind.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: Even some of the strongest skills that Jinwoo possesses have no effects on him. The battle against him can retaliate as though nothing had impacted him, despite the fact that Jinwoo came close to severing him in half.
- Breath of Destruction: As the King of Dragons, Antares can unleash fire out of his mouth, which was impactful enough to cancel a vast majority of attacks used by Jinwoo and was even shown to be tremendous enough to wipe his shadow soldiers out of existence permanently, as his Monarch of Destruction title suggests. Any other ordinary S-Rank hunters would have bean turned into dusts.
- Dragon's Fear: A debuff ability that the Monarch is capable of unleash soul-infused cry charged with mana, capable of plunging frail opponents that gets consumed in horror and fear.
