Antoine Straggen, known as Starling, is a minor antagonist in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the Blood and Wine expansion. He is the leader of one of the criminal Hansa in Toussaint and one of the three public enemies of the Ducal Guard of Toussaint.
Biography[]
Nothing is known about Antoine's future except that he was born in the kingdom of Toussaint. Some time later, Antoine established his crime lordship in Toussaint living up to its reputation as the most dangerous group of criminals in the kingdom. Antoine established the Hansa and his position in the ruins of the Arthach palace lying in a swamp somewhere in the north of Toussaint even though it is hard to find it is also hard on him especially for his bones and rheumatism so Antoine was forced to live on the roof of the palace. As Antoine's Hansa keeps getting new recruits, Arthach Palace, which is Antoine's Hansa's hideout, becomes overcrowded and, according to Straggen himself, looks "like a f***ing bazaar". Nevertheless, thanks to the vast number of members of the Hansa, Antoine was able to defend the palace against the shining knights of Toussaint.
Straggen, wanting to improve the situation in his hanza, decides to raid the silver Salamander and also plans to raid the rich Coronata winery in southern Toussaint. When an official of the Duchess searches around the villa of Vedette which has been conquered by Straggen's hanze, however, the official of the Duchess was captured by one of Straggen'swill men after he was caught Straggen gave the order to hang the official along with his companions and then burn the entire villa.
To improve the atmosphere in his Hanseatic League, Straggen to this goal decided to attract merchants by spreading his announcements throughout Toussaint ze Antoine Straggen contrary to public opinion his Hanseatic League is not aggressive and criminal as they claim and is interested in trading with merchants all to lure them into the fold. Worst of all, one of the merchants from Toussaint who was rich and whose name is Bartolomé de Launay known for his collection of Witcher equipment managed to lure Straggen into the Hansa thinking they would take him over to the Hansa.
When Bartolomé meets with Straggen to be taken over by him in his Hansa to which antoine agrees his participation in the Hansa. Straggen eventually seized Launay to his hanza all to find out from Bartolomé where he is keeping the valuable schematics of the Witcher equipment. When Antoine met the witcher of Lexandre's cat school, Straggen asked the witcher where the witcher schematics were located to which Lexandre reluctantly reveals that he hid them in the pits of mist, after Lexandre divulged the information, he betrayed them both by showing his true nature. After the betrayal, Antoine ordered his men to shoot Bartolomé with a crossbow from behind, and torture the witcher himself, wanting to see how much the witcher would endure his pain under barbaric torture. In the end, the witcher dies in agony and soon Antoine and his Hansa are gone from the misty pits.
Some time later, Geralt, who has come to Toussaint to kill the Beast of Toussaint, takes over the task of fighting the criminal Hansas, including Antoine's Hansa. When Geralt finds Antoine's Hanseatic League base, he kills its members, meets Antoine himself, and then confronts him in a fight that ends with Antoine's death.

- Antoine has the same surname as Homer known as Nightingale who is also a criminal leader in Toussaint. Despite this, it is unconfirmed whether Antoine is related to him or just a mere coincidence when it comes to surnames.
