Antoinetta "Akers" Kerson is a supporting antagonist in the TV series Orange is the New Black.
She is an inmate at Litchfield Penitentiary Maximum Security prison, a member of Carol Denning's group and Madison Murphy's right-hand.
She was portrayed by Phumzile Sitole.
Personality[]
Akers has a hardened exterior to others, shown to be short and mouthy. Behind this, Akers does have a softer, fairer side. She has strong loyalties to Madison Murphy and her block.
Physical appearance[]
Akers has black hair which is styled into cornrows. She is quite short, and is only seen wearing the C-Block dark-navy uniform.

Akers is first introduced mocking Piper Chapman who sustained a facial injury in the riot, believing her to be a drug addict. Madison Murphy tells Akers that Desi Piscatella, who tells Nicky Nichols and so forth until all the riot girls find out. When Murphy is released from AdSeg into general population, she laughs when Beth Hoefler is tripped, which is disapproved of by Carol Denning, the leader of C-Block.
When Murphy tells Akers to move cells, she hesitates, which results in Nicole Eckelcamp suffocating her as punishment. Akers later beats up Nicky Nichols and Blanca Flores for attempting IVF in prison. Akers takes the GED programme where she reveals her contempt for schooling, but shows ambition to do well.
