Antonio Macasantos (simply known as Macasantos) is a minor antagonist in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

He was a jail guard having a rank of lieutenant who was a loyal accomplice of Dolores Espinas and later became a goon working under Facundo Caballero’s syndicate. He later betrayed Don Facundo, and chose to side Marcelo Macaraig in his final moments.

He is played by Lao Rodriguez.

Background[]

He worked as a jail guard in National Correctional Facility, and became a loyal accomplice of Chief. Espinas who aided her both in their legal and illegal actions. As Tanggol and Batang Quiapo were sent to the facility, he helped Chief. Espinas torture Tanggol as requested by Olga Montenegro to Warden. One day, when Chief Espinas was hired by Mr. Salazar to assassinate Red Phoenix he joined Tanggol and Bubbles with the other inmates assigned to prevent the inmates escape. As Tanggol and his friends shoots Red Phoenix, he was seen backing them up with Chief. Espinas and her accomplice allowing the inmates escape from Rigor and Mando. Days later, he visited Tanggol’s neighborhood to investigate Tanggol’s whereabouts until he sees Tanggol returning to the prison causing him to lock Tanggol in the isolation cell.

As Prison Week is celebrated, Bong and his gang initiated a riot after shooting him alongside with Chief. Espinas and the Warden. Later on, it was revealed that he survived the shootout and Rigor questions him about their corruption but refused to cooperate. With Chief. Espinas arrest, he continued working as a jail guard but was threatened by Oscar Duran. Marcelo Macaraig then contacted him to help the other inmates escape and later joins to Marcelo’s group after admitting that he is tired of being paid lowly as a jail officer. Later on, he continued working with Facundo Caballero in their drug business and served his loyalty to Facundo. One day, he helped Don Facundo torture Tanggol and his friends after the Caballeros learn that Tanggol was the one responsible for killing Pablo Caballero. Later on, as tension increase between Marcelo and Facundo after the latter learns that the former was responsible for the death of Bubbles he mediated them but Marcelo remained adamant to his vengeance. Moments later, as Marcelo begins to shoot Facundo and his goons he chose to side Marcelo but unfortunately got shot by Madonna resulting his death.

Personality[]

He was introduced to be a lapdog of Chief. Espinas due to that he was a loyal accomplice on her authority who was responsible for snitching out every happenings in the facility and aiding her in their shady actions. Despite of his loyalty as a jail guard, he once complained to Marcelo that he is tired of his job for being paid lowly indicating that he is also somehow a greedy ma. He is also mostly seen to be arrogant causing the inmates to be intimidated as his way to shape and discipline the inmates.

In his last scene, he was seen helping Marcelo Macaraig in the shootout between the Caballeros instead to his boss, Don Facundo indicating that he was more loyal to Marcelo whom he thanked for giving him an opportunity to join forces with his side.
