Ants are minor antagonists of the dark fantasy Korean manhwa, and light novel series Solo Leveling. They are insect-type magical beasts that appear in the S-rank gate of Jeju Island. They were led by the Ant King after the death of their leader's mother, the Ant Queen.
History[]
Jeju Island was once the habitat of humans before getting invaded by the ants prior to four years of the main story. The Ant Queen began to struggle with his children as they began to cannibalism among each other and create a stronger soldier for the glory of her empire, the Ant King.
The Korean Hunter Association discovered that the ants have developed new abilities such as flight. They send the team to wipe the magical beasts out. Having even defeated all of the ants, including the queen, the hunters are confronted by the king of ants. He goes on a massacre all over the place, looking for a hunter that he can call the king before getting killed by the S-rank hunter, Sung Jin-Woo. He is now known as Beru, a shadow of the hunter.
Appearances[]
The Korean Hunter Association announced that the ants that resided on Jeju Island were gigantic, appearing bigger than humans. A lot of them had red shiny appearances. Some were white and were at least several times larger than humans in their stage 2 or 1 with spider-like appearance. In their third stage, their appearance becomes more frightening, into darker colours.
Ants that attacked Japan have also grown wings and long limbs.
Behaviours[]
During the first and second stages, they were stated to have normal behaviours, until the third stage. Within just the course of two years, they are now able to use four of their limbs like hands and their head's size decreasing.
Abilities[]
- Speed: Ants were immensely fast, being able to travel at a speed of 150 kilometres per hour. They were mostly seen attacking hunters in groups, aside from the Ant King.
