Antylamon

Antylamon is an Exalted Beast Digimon whose name is derived from the mythological Aṇḍīra. It is the "Rabbit" Deva, and serves the Sovereign Azulongmon. As a follower of Azulongmon, it is the owner of a gentle spirit. It likes small things, and because it attends to them with profound tenderness, if anything appears that tries to tread on them, then its personality is completely reversed, and it attacks with the "Treasure Axe", which are its arms transformed into razor-sharp axes. Once it loses its temper and starts spinning it doesn't calm down until the opponent's figure is no more.

Appearance

Antylamon was originally one of the Devas (the Rabbit Deva), whose job was as guardian of the south gate leading to Zhuqiaomon's palace. When Antylamon met Suzie, Antylamon grew to care about the girl & drove a fellow Deva Makuramon away. As punishment, Zhuqiaomon reverted Antylamon to Lopmon.

During the D-Reaper's attack in the Real World, Lopmon digivolves back into Antylamon to help fight. It is not shown how Lopmon does this. It is clearly shown Lopmon digivolves back the second time with the only reaction being Suzie's digivice glowing. It is possible Lopmon got back the power to digivolve which was taken away by Zhuqiaomon when Lopmon became Suzie's partner. It also could have been given back by Zhuqiaomon after he ended his vendetta against humans. Lopmon first digivolves back to try to help the others and after seeing Beelzemon and Calumon fly to the Kernel Sphere, tries to help them. After Antylamon fails that it joins the battle against the Horn Striker Agent turning the tide of the battle by grabbing it's cord as it was about to eat Justimon stopping it. Antylamon then holds it's cord still long enough for Justimon to cut it destroying the agent. Lopmon again digivolves to Antylamon during Gallantmon and Beelzemon's attempt to rescue Jeri. Lopmon jumps out a window while digivolving and after Suzie uses the Radiant Glow Modify Card, and joins the battle destroying a bunch of Bubble Agents and saving Kazu, Kenta, Guardromon and Marine Angemon. Antylamon does not appear after this either in the series or in Runaway Locomon, all her appearances afterward being in her Lopmon form.

Profile

An Ultimate leveled Digimon which has the appearance of the "Rabbit" from the Twelve Heavenly Soldiers of oriental legends. These Twelve Heavenly Soldiers Digimon are called the "Deva", and serve "beings" close to the gods. It is able to freely manipulate the "qi" flowing within its body, allowing it to interact with softness as well as hardness, so that at times it moves flexibly as if it were flowing, and at other times it unleashes heavy blows like iron. Its Signature move is recovering from any kind of damage in an instant (Meditation Cure). Its Special Move is hardening its body tissue to the level of Chrome Digizoid by liberating all of the energy within its body, then unleashing a mighty blow.

Other appearances

  • Antylamon is the only one of the twelve Devas to appear in anything related to the first two seasons. In the third segment of the first Digimon movie, Terriermon and Lopmon (always referred to as Kokomon) are Willis's partners. Kokomon is attacked by a virus and attacks Willis as Endigomon. For a few minutes of the fight, he digivolves into Antylamon, before digivolving into Kerpymon. It is interesting to note that this Antylamon is portrayed as male (at least to what extents Digimon have genders), while in Tamers, the Deva Antylamon is female.

Trivia

  • Antylamon is the only Deva to not be destroyed, and turn good.
  • As mentioned above, she is also the only Deva to have a counterpart in anything related to the first two seasons. All eleven of the other Devas have never been heard of until Tamers.
