Susano’o wants to be next? It’s already late. It has been decided that this is my turn!!
~ Anubis tries in vain to explain to Susano'o no Mikoto that it is his turn to fight in the Tenth Round of the Ragnarok Tournament.

Anubis is a supporting antagonist in the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok.

He is the secondary antagonist of the Tenth Round of the Ragnarok Tournament.

Anubis is the God of Funerary Rites, Protector of Graves and Guide to the Underworld in the Egyptian Pantheon. He is also a future Gods' representative of the Gods Fighters.

Appearance[]

Anubis is a very young-looking God, with dark skin and large eyes. He has very sharp canines, a pair of piercings on his chin and a tongue with a pair of small black canines at its ends. He wears a hat on his head that resembles the face of a jackal, including the face, ears and part of the body, and has long hair gathered in a braid. He wears bracelets and wrist covers on both arms and a trapezoid front on his neck. Wear a shendit and trousers that reach up to his heels, leaving his feet exposed. It has long, sharp fingernails and toenails.

Personality[]

Anubis is an extremely energetic individual and prone to running on all fours when excited. In direct contrast to many of his fellow Gods, Anubis has child-like behavior and tends to repeat short phrases when feeling particularly happy or irritated. Anubis celebrates whenever he gets what he wants and quickly becomes angry if he is denied what he seeks. He loves the smell of death emanating from others, and gets excited every time he smells it.

Although he is quick to rant and threaten his fellow Gods if provoked, he is not inclined to immediately hit them if they say something he doesn't like and prefers to scold them, in fact he rather quickly agrees to give up his place in the Tenth Round when Susano'o no Mikoto stubbornly insists on being the God to fight in the Tenth Round of the Ragnarok Tournament.

Biography[]

When the Ragnarok Tournament is proclaimed, Anubis is chosen by Zeus as one of the Gods Fighters to represent the Gods during the competition.

At the end of the Ninth Round Anubis participates in a meeting between all the remaining Gods Fighters in which it is decided to quickly obtain the last two victories that the Gods need to win the Ragnarok Tournament. Anubis immediately proposes himself to be the next representative of the Gods, and the others accept as Anubis was already expected to fight in the Tenth Round from the beginning. However, Susano'o no Mikoto bursts into the meeting who, having learned from Hermes that the next representative of the Humans is Soji Okita, insists that he fight in the Tenth Round and Anubis, after being furious and rebelling for a while, gives in and lets him fight in the Tenth Round.

Powers and Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Anubis is powerful enough to have been chosen to participate in the Ragnarok Tournament.

Divine Physiology: As a God, Anubis possesses physical abilities far superior to those of any ordinary Human. His body cannot be damaged by mortal weapons, however it can still be damaged by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons. Also, like God, Anubis has an unlimited lifespan and cannot die of old age.

Trivia[]

  • Although he does not have the face of a jackal as in Egyptian Mythology, this Anubis has still maintained some typical jackal traits, thanks to the headdress he wears and the dog-like attitudes he has.
