Aogame Doubler (アオガメダブラー Aogame Daburā, lit. Blue Turtle Doubler) is a minor antagonist of Uchuu Keiji Gavan who appears in episode 18. He is a turtle-like Doubler. While he tried to create his own vision of Urashima Taro folklore story, he was supposed to build a time machine for Makuu to travel back in time to the Dragon God's Palace and obtain its treature for their nefarious plans.
He was portrayed and voiced by late Sakae Umezu, who also voiced Scorpion Strong in Kikaider 01.
Biography[]
Wanting to make his vision of Urashima Taro folklore story come to life, the Aogame Doubler has been searching for beautiful women at the beach and kidnaps them in order to cast each of them as "Princess Otohime" for his vision, but he was supposed to finish the time machine for Makuu in order to travel back in time to the Dragon God's Palace to obtain its treasure. When Gavan discovers about its activity, the Doubler went to ambush both Retsu and Tsukiko on a boat and attempt to capture the latter, but only to get sent down the underwater by the former who transforms into Gavan. After escaping from the fight as Gavan fires a Laser Z Beam at him, the Doubler was reprimanded by both Hunter Killer and Double Girl for failing to defeat Gavan.
After Tsukiko was captured by the Doubler for his vision, Retsu disguised himself as the protagonist of folklora Urashima Taro, to infiltrate the Dragon God's Palace and discover Makuu's nefarious plans, until he was exposed by Hunter Killer who quickly recognized him. After he snaps the girls from brainwashing, Retsu went to fought against the Doubler and Hunter Killer was about to order to shoot him with a harpoon until it was intervened by Mimi who dressed herself as Princess Otohime, allowed him to transform into Gavan. After destroying a time machine, Gavan went to fought the Doubler outside and kicked him with a Spiral Kick before they're dragged into Makuu Space. Despite struggling of fighting against him, Gavan managed to finish off the Doubler with Gavan Dynamic, but not before he yells out Princess Otohime's name in despair.
