Apep is the Snake God and a supporting antagonist of The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian.
He was voiced by Mark Hamill, who provided the voice of the Joker from the Batman: Arkham video game series.
Apep was created to protect the gates from the Underworld to the Land of the Living. He encountered Mathayus, who has the rebuilt Sword of Osiris that was first used by Set.
He snarled at Mathayus and explained his purpose in the Underworld. He warned Mathayus that if the Akkadian leaves, the gods would keep Mathayus' soul.
Apep does not treat mortals who attempt to leave the Underworld kindly.
