Arachnofiend was the spider monster of the Evil Space Aliens under Lord Zedd and the titular main antagonist of the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers episode "Along Came a Spider." She was the final monster in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

She was voiced by Julie Maddalena.

Biography

Arachnofiend is first seen when Master Vile calls a conference of monsters after the Orb of Doom turns the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers into children. His aim is to choose the five nastiest monsters for Professor Longnose to use in his invasion of Earth. After the Command Center bomb is defused, Arachnofiend is not one of the ones chosen and she leaves the Moon.

After the death of Witchblade, Cestro and Tideus are the only Alien Rangers left on Earth whilst the others are re-hydrating on Aquitar. Deciding to take advantage of this, Lord Zedd transforms a spider inside Billy's garage into Arachnofiend to capture Cestro and Tideus when they return after re-hydrating at a car wash. Billy comes back first though so Arachnofiend captures and his phase modulator component in her lair in a cavern beneath Angel Grove. When the Alien Rangers come to rescue him, she defeats and traps most them in webbing as well aside from Delphine who she easily beats down. Unfortunately for her, Tideus is able to blast free with his Aquitarian Laser and then defeat Arachnofiend with a special triangle slash only to be enlarged by Lord Zedd himself which causes her to break up through the ground. Although she blasts Aurico, he is unfazed and they summon the Battle Borgs which are able to easily beat down Arachnofiend with minimal effort. Unable to completely defeat Arachnofiend with the Battle Borgs, they summon the Shogun Megazord which she charges at only to be destroyed by the Fire Saber.

Legacy

The death of Arachnofiend was the final straw for Rita and Zedd. Afterwards, they stopped sending monsters and employed the Hydro Hog help which led to the destruction of the Command Center and the events of Power Rangers Zeo.

Powers and Abilities

• Strength: Arachnofiend could take down the Alien Rangers with single strikes from her pincers and also wrap her pincers around Saizou's neck and flip him head over heels.
• Durability: Arachnofiend survived Tideus' finishing energy slash without a scratch and being punched back by the White and Blue Battle Borgs didn't hurt her.
• Web Spray: Arachnofiend could fire sprays of white webs from her mouth capable of capturing anyone.
  • Web Launch: Arachnofiend could launch white webbing from her palms to wrap around Aurico and pull him over to her.
• Super Jumps: Arachnofiend could launch across the room with a single jump.
• Reflexes: Arachnofiend could react fast enough to duck Cestro's Aquitarian Saber.
• Agility: Arachnofiend was able to back-flip quickly enough to dodge a shot from Corcus' Aquitarian Laser.
• Energy Absorption: Arachnofiend was able to absorb Rita and Zedd's lightning to grow giant.
• Eye Beams: Arachnofiend could fire red-black energy beams from her eyes. These caused a massive explosion and sent Aurico flying with one hit.

• Pincers: Arachnofiend had no weapons of her own but had razor sharp spider pincers on the back of her wrists to use in combat.
