Emperor Aran Tau (regnal name Aran V), is the main antagonist of the Roblox games, CENTAURA and Dead Ahead.

Born into the Tau bloodline, Aran was the heir to Kalvin Tau. Gaining the throne in 1927 after his father's passing, he would lead Antares through the Centauran Wars and Forman Wars. Aran would continue with his father's plan of uniting all of Forma; albeit in a very twisted and brutal way, but would be defeated by the Compact, and executed for all of his crimes against humanity.

History[]

Birth and Early Life[]

Aran V was born on October 31, 1885 into the royal Tau family of Antares. He was the heir to emperor Kalvin Tau.

In 1905, he would be paired with Anna Khorin, improving the relations between Corvus Confederation and Antares Imperium. In 1908, Aran and his consort, Anna gave birth to Kaden Tau, Aran’s only child.

During the Centauran Wars, although expected to participate by tradition, Kalvin prohibited Aran from ever going to the frontlines, as he didn’t want Aran to go through the same trauma and pain he went through during the 1875 war. This effect likely morphed Aran’s attitude and morality during his rule.

CENTAURA during his reign (1927-1944)[]

After the death of his father in 1927, Aran ascended to the throne at the age of 42 in the middle of the Columban Campaign. During his father's reign, he had started the plans on conquering the continent of Centaura to establish peace through war. He had conquered most of southern Centaura, before being stopped at the nation of Columba, along with the formidable Columban Mountain Range.

When he became ruler of Antares, he fired General Archer who was in charge of the Columban campaign, replacing him with General Cervantes, who managed to defeat Columba before continuing towards northern Centaura. Aran also appointed his brother Andrew Tau as advisor to the Supreme Council. Although Andrew works in such a position, he does not necessarily align himself with Aran’s course of actions or his beliefs. In fact, Andrew says whatever he thinks might make Aran happy, largely because Andrew fears being labeled as a traitor and imprisoned/executed. This move effectively establish a royal dictatorship with the nullification of any constitutional power pose by the Supreme Council, allowing Aran to gain complete control.

Along with that, his father had implemented reforms, causing the nation's military to one that used to be known for brutality, to be more friendly to civilians; Aran reversed these reforms, allowing soldiers to commit any crimes without punishment, and while most veteran soldiers still followed his father's word, newer recruits would find themselves indiscriminately killing and raping civilians.

In 1937, during the NCA counteroffensive against Antares, he established the Solstice alliance with the northern Federation of Ursa which allowed him to successfully defeat the NCA and continue the conquest of Centaura.

It is estimated that during the campaign against the nation of Riaa, his soldiers caused around 21% of the Riaan population to perish, only within a span of at most 7 years; the carnage of the campaign was so unspeakable, that the last nation standing against Antares, a nation called Centauri (not to be confused with the continent)had several political leaders and civilians commit suicide to prevent them from being subject to the same treatment that have been given to the Riaans. His actions in Riaa also led to the Empire of Vulpa left to undergo a famine, as they required imports from mainland Centaura.

Ultimately, he succeeded in his goal of uniting all of Centaura, but left a devastating impact across the north. The Centauran Wars killed an estimated 100-135 Million people, and while Aran wasn’t responsible for all of it, it’s safe to say that his campaign in Northern Centaura resulted in most of the casualties. He would also regroup Northern Centaura into a puppet state, known as Skorpii Riaa; ruled by Cervantes, his close ally and the General of the AIA.

DEAD AHEAD (1948-1961)[]

Anxious with the growing power of Orion, Aran would conspire with Ursa, a revanchist state to pacify the Hydran powers as a precaution. Continued Orionite agitations against his conquests would build up distrust between both nations.

In October 1947, an incident occurred in the Libratum International Zone, known as the SIC Incident. Antares claimed it was the fault of Orion, but was later proven to be Ursa’s fault. Either way, this confirms the fears of Aran that the Hydran powers would oppose him, thus he decides to strike first. Aran would conspire with the Federation of Ursa, a revanchist state to pacify the Hydran powers, eventually starting a global war known as the Forman War.

By 1956, the Antarean navy had been decimated, and Compact forces would make landfall on Centaura. Sometime in the same period, Hydrusite intelligence revealed Ursa's involvement in the SIC incident, leading to Ursa's collapse under an Antarean/Compact invasion. His son, Kaden continued to fight with his new company. Aran's regime would turn into massive turmoil as the Compact forces pushed his army back to Antares' original borders. This left Skorpii Riaa in absolute anarchy, with the warlord system destroyed. One of the commanders in the region was Kaden, who decided to surrendered himself to the Orionite forces, as he had lost trust with his father's totalitarian regime. Soon, other Antarean army units began following suit after learning what Kaden had done. The deserters were allowed to fight alongside the Orion army as they continued pushing south.

Aran's regime would come crumbling down in 1961, as Compact forces began to close in on Antares' capital, Ananteria. Aran would be captured by Orionite forces and executed on October 10. Kaden would last meet his father before his judgment. After the war, Orion began to rebuild a new Antarean state with Kaden Tau in charge of the new nation, a position he was not ready for.

However, Kaden himself would commit suicide after suffering PTSD and depression from the war, thereby ending the House of Tau bloodline and leading to the dissolution of Antares Empire into the original four Skorpii states.

Personality[]

As part of the Tau Family, he sports red eyes, a small mustache and brown hair. Aran is commonly known for being egotistical and oppressive usually, with his campaigns being one of the most-if not the most brutal part of the Centauran Wars.

He is against from his father's original concept of ruling and being less reasonable and gentle, instead more in line with traditional Antarean emperors. He encouraged his son into the military, Kaden. Kaden would detest the war, much like his grandfather Kalvin, when most of his company was killed in the Riaan campaign, giving him lifetime PTSD that would ultimately result in him taking his life after Aran’s death.

Skills[]

Leadership: As emperor of Antares, Aran has virtually complete control over the nation’s politics, resources and military, which means he can appoint and dismiss politicians to certain roles in the Council. That basically makes him the most powerful man in Antares.

Military strength: Being emperor of Antares also makes him the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, meaning he has the ability to command the Armed Forces whenever and wherever he needs/wants, despite him never serving actual military service.

Immense wealth: As part of the wealthy House of Tau, Aran even before he was emperor was already one of the wealthiest people in all of Centaura. Now that he is emperor of the entire nation, he has even more resources to spend his lifestyle.

Trivia[]

  • Aran Tau is probably based off Hideki Tojo and Hitler, while his looks are likely based off Wilhelm II
  • Aran Tau is the first character so far from Centaura to be put on the Villains Wiki
  • In the early version of the lore, the reason for him to being more aggressive towards enemies (especially Riaans) were caused by the death of his daughter, Maya Tau. But ever since she was removed from lore, the reason became vague. Some speculate it could be his insanity.
