Arc Angles are a group of mysterious, godlike antagonists who first appeared in The Flash Vol. 5 #800 (August 2023). Introduced by writer Simon Spurrier and artist Mike Deodato Jr., they serve as metaphysical villains who challenge the very structure of time, change, and the Speed Force itself within the DC Universe.
Biography[]
The Arc Angles are described as “conscious hypergeometries,” existing outside the bounds of traditional time and space. They view time and change as forms of suffering and strive to erase both by attacking the Deep Change—the metaphysical wellspring from which the Speed Force and its energy flow.
To fulfill this goal, they created the “Crown of Thawnes,” a metaphysical weapon composed of the essences of multiple Reverse-Flashes across the multiverse. The crown was designed as a poison to be delivered directly into the Speed Force to kill the Deep Change and halt the movement of time.
The Arc Angles manipulated Wally West (the Flash) into becoming their unwitting pawn, using him to carry the Crown of Thawnes into the Speed Force. As the crown began to take effect, reality itself started to freeze and break down.
The plan was ultimately stopped by the Flash Family. With the help of Jai West, the Deep Change intervened and transformed the Arc Angles into a new, less dangerous form known as the Stillness. In this new state, they became passive observers of time and change rather than active destroyers.
