Billy: Someone or something extremely powerful has just teleported to the Moon. I’ll pull up a thermal image now. Zordon Do you have any idea who they could be?
Zordon: I’m afraid so, Billy. King Mondo has fathered not one but two sons.
Jason: There’s another Sprocket out there?
Zordon: I would not be so concerned if that were not the case. Several centuries ago, King Mondo’s first manufactured son fell in love with Archerina. She is the daughter of Mondo’s mortal enemy, King Aradon. The two eloped due to the fact that their father’s would never accept the marriage.
Jason: And now that his father’s gone, he’s back.
Zordon: Gasket and Archerina are a grave menace. It will take all of your powers to stop them!
~ Zordon regarding Gasket and Archerina.
I think I broke a nail.
~ Archerina

Princess Archerina is the wife of Prince Gasket, the temporary co-ruler of the Machine Empire, the archenemy of Katherine Hillard/Zeo Ranger I-Pink and a major antagonist in Power Rangers Zeo. She serves as the secondary antagonist between "Where in the World is Zeo Ranger V?" and "Another Song and Dance" (being the main antagonist of the episode "A Mystery to Me") as well as the joint main antagonist of the penultimate episode "Hawaii Zeo."

She is voiced by Melora Harte.

Biography[]

Past[]

Princess Archerina was the daughter of King Aradon (the archenemy of King Mondo of the Machine Empire) but she fell in love with Mondo's oldest son Prince Gasket so the two went into hiding due to thier taboo relationship.

Zeo[]

Princess Archerina returns in 1996 after King Mondo is destroyed in battle with the Zeo Power Rangers where he and Archerina overthrow Louie Kaboom and he becomes the rightful ruler of the Machine Empire. One of Prince Gasket and Archerina's's most notable plans is very soon after regaining control of the Machine Empire when he brainwashes Tommy Oliver into believing he is the Machine Empire's king and that the other Rangers are his enemies. Another plan of thier is when they trap the people of Earth in a time loop ala Groundhog Day so that they constantly relive the same day over and over. However, due to Tommy earlier having had his brain messed with by Gasket, he knew what was going on and foiled this plan. Soon enough though, King Mondo is rebuilt and the machine prince and Archerina flee from him.

The two return to Earth very soon after the death of the Impursonator and decide to work with Prince Sprocket to kill the Power Rangers though they don't realise that this is a ploy to get the Power Rangers to destroy them. Using some Cogs lent to them by Sprocket, they attack Ernie's Beachside Cafe and have Klank and Orbus grows them into giants after the Cogs are defeated. Despite thier considerable combined power, they are overwhelmed by the Zords and are seemingly killed off by the Zeo Ultrazord. However, they survive and try to attack Sprocket for attempting to get rid of Gasket but King Mondo arrives and the two flee from the Earth for good and are never heard from ever again.

In Space[]

What happened to Gasket and Archerina is unknown after they fled from Mondo since they are never heard from again and they are not members of the United Alliance of Evil nor do they aid in Dark Specter's invasion of the universe. However, they are presumed to have been vaporised by Zordon's Energy Wave since there was nothing redeemable about the two and they are not among the Machine Empire Remnants seen four years later.

Personality[]

Princess Archerina was a doting wife to Prince Gasket with most of her agency being devoted to Gasket's rise to the Machine Empire's throne. Archerina did have a ruthless side as seen in her individual battles with Tommy and was shown to be very arrogant. She also enjoyed brainwashing and manipulating others as seen with Louie Kaboom.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Strength: Princess Archerina was able to overpower the Rangers in battle with them and equal in might with her husband.
  • Durability: Archerina was able to survive the Zeo Ultrazord's finisher and exploding without a scratch.
  • Teleportation: Archerina could teleport to any location at will.
  • Extraordinary Jumper: Archerina could jump to incredible heights.
  • Archery Proficiency: Archerina was highly proficient in archery.
  • Flame Rush: Archerina could charge herself up with fire and rush at her opponents.
  • Energy Heart Form: Gasket could join with Archerina to form a green and pink energy heart and slam into thier enemies.

Arsenal[]

  • Bow: Princess Archerina used a large pink and silver bow in battle.
    • Sword Transformation: Archerina could also turn her bow into a sword for close combat.
      • Energy Beam: In its sword form, Archerina could fire red-pink energy beams.
  • Heart Arrows: Archerina could fire powerful pink arrows from her bow.
    • Love Arrows: Archerina was able to use her arrows to make Louie Kaboom fall in love with her.

Quotes[]

Let us help in your time of need, mother-in-law.
~ Princess Archerina's first words to Queen Machina.
Of course you love me, Louie. No one can resist my arrows. Now, tell me what you would do for me...
~ Princess Archerina after brainwashing Louie Kaboom.
We're shrinking!

Trivia[]

  • In Ohranger, Archerina was Gasket's cousin but also his wife. For obvious reasons, this was changed.
  • In the equivalent Ohranger episode to "The Ranger who came in from the Cold," Archerina revealed herself and kidnapped Louie Kaboom which led to the confrontation on the Moon.
    • This was cut for time (since "The Ranger who came in from the Cold" was originally a two-parter) but was why the episode just hard-cuts to Louie randomly out in the open on the Moon to be confronted by Gasket and Archerina.
  • In Ohranger, Gasket and Archerina were the final antagonists as thier Zord fight was the final battle. In Zeo, they were the main antagonists of the penultimate episode with Mondo being the final antagonist of Zeo.
