Archibald MacGregor is a minor antagonist of its 2018 western-action video game Red Dead Redemption 2 and its spin-off 2019 multiplayer Red Dead Online. serving as a secondary antagonist of the chapter 3 "Clemens Point". He is the deputy sheriff working along with Leigh Gray.
He was voiced by Greg Hildreth
Biography[]
Archibald MacGregor was born at some point in Rhodes, Lemoyne. When he became of age he worked at Caliga Hall, before later becoming a deputy sheriff under Leigh Gray.
1898[]
MacGregor was encountered by an unnamed person when examining a bounty poster. Sheriff Gray mistakes the person as a bounty hunter, but MacGregor corrects Gray and points to the bounty hunter driving a wagon full of the members of the Twin Rocks Gang. MacGregor is ordered to count the deceased gang members and discovers there is one missing. The bounty hunter soon finds the last gang member and executes him. MacGregor is then ordered to properly dispose of the corpses.
1899[]
MacGregor was transporting Josiah Trelawny, Anders Anderson and his gang. He is then encountered by the Van der Linde Gang and starts a conversation with Dutch van der Linde. However, Anderson and his gang escape the wagon and jump onto a train. Dutch orders Arthur Morgan to accompany MacGregor in capturing the Anderson Brothers, which he complied. After Anderson's capture, MacGregor arrests him and presumably the rest of his gang.
Later, he and newly elected deputy sheriff's Dutch, Arthur and Bill Williamson bust a Lemoyne Raider moonshining operation in the woods. Afterwards, MacGregor was going to take the moonshine back to the Scarlett Meadows Sheriff's Office to drink the alcohol alongside Gray, but Dutch convinced him to leave the moonshine to them. MacGregor then grabs one bottle and transports the captured Raiders back to the sheriff department.
Sometime later in Rhodes, MacGregor and Gray realize that the Van ger Linde Gang played them and double-cross them. MacGregor lures them to Rhodes by telling Bill of an operation as bodyguards. Sean MacGuire is killed while MacGregor and Gray capture Bill and hold him at gunpoint. He is than killed by either Arthur or Micah Bell.
Trivia[]
- He states that his uncle, Reginald MacGregor, has a 'one tiny hand like a child's on a grown man's arm'. There is a point of interest that shows a deceased man with a deceased man with a tiny hand.
- If Arthur gets arrested in Rhodes, there may be a cutscene in which MacGregor tells him that he will be hanged for his crimes, before Dutch breaks him out.
- This also can appear even after MacGregor's death.
