Archibald "Archie" Andrews is a supporting antagonist in Season 6 of the CW, Riverdale. He is the villainous counterpart of Riverdale's Archie Andrews. This Archie is a ruthless murderer who kills his friends in an effort to prevent Jughead from separating the universes and seeing his father again.
He is portrayed by KJ Apa, who also played his heroic Riverdale counterpart.
Personality[]
Like Archie Andrews from Riverdale, this Archie is benevolent and wants to get Rivervale back on its feet, like reforesting the town with maple trees. But unlike Riverdale's Archie, he was desperate to see his father Fred again and went to extreme lengths to achieve that goal, which includes killing his own friends. Even after Jughead told him it was important to put the universes back together, Archie didn't listen to him and tried to kill him.
Biography[]
Archie first appears in Season 6 when he wakes up in Betty's bed and tells her he had a nightmare where he was living in Riverdale and discovered a bomb laying under the bed. He also manages the reforestation of Rivervale maples because of Cheryl de Thornhill's claim. When he and his men want to plant some shrubbery, Archie discovers that voodoo dolls have been planted by Cheryl in the ground to scare them away. One night, Archie receives a call from Kevin who informs him that Cheryl is performing a ritual in Thornhill Forest. Going there, he realizes that everyone has arranged to sacrifice him and it is Cheryl who stabs him before ripping out his heart.
Despite his death, Archie comes back to life and thinks what happened before was a dream. Along with Jughead and Sheriff Keller, Archie saves Jason Blossom from the Black Hood who was none other than his father, Clifford. Later, it is revealed that Archie killed Veronica, Cheryl, the narrator Jughead, and his other friends because Jughead had told them what he knew about parallel universes. He then confronts Jughead about this and tries to kill him by strangling him to prevent him from saving Rivervale and seeing his father again. He is, however, stopped by Betty who shoots him, killing him. For the second time, he is revived attempting to stop Jughead yet again. However, Jughead rewrites history, causing Archie to simply have dinner with his friends.
In the season's penultimate episode, Archie and his friends help Riverdale's Jughead defeat Percival Pickens by stabbing him with the Daggers of Miggido until he is weakened and unable to use his powers.
