Archie MacMillan is an minor antagonist in Dead by Daylight.

He was the abusive father of Evan MacMillan who would one day become known as the Trapper.

Biography[]

Former lore[]

Archie MacMillan was a powerful businessman and the owner of the MacMillan Family Estate having presumably inherited both from his own father.

At some point, he got married and had a son Evan MacMillan who greatly admired for the way that he ran his business. Archie was first and foremost a businessman who held a tight ship and always had a strict attitude towards his servants and staff, often making them work long and hard for very little pay.

In later years, as he grew older, Archie's mental health began to rapidly deteriorate becoming frail and near bedridden. Evan spent a fortune on medicines trying to find a cure for his father, but nothing worked. Eventually, Evan grew fed up with his father's increasingly erratic behaviors and decided to apply the same cold logic to the situation as his father would've done to the servants and the staff: those who cannot carry their own weight do not deserve the weight they carry.

Archie eventually disappeared entirely from the outside world, and it was assumed that Evan, who would later go on to claim responsibility for one of the worst mass murders in recent history, had also killed his father.

In the expanded lore, it was revealed that Archie MacMillan was in fact a cruel and evil man long before his mental health deteriorated having abused and manipulated his son into becoming just as much of a monster as he was. He was the one responsible for the mine incident that killed countless people having planned the entire thing and forcing his son to go along with the plan.

It was also implied that he had drowned his own wife in a nearby river and had orchestrated the death of his brother to inherit the family business, though this was just Evan's suspicions.
