Archie Waters, also known as "A", is the main antagonist of the first season of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, and a minor antagonist in the second season; Summer School.
Archie is the illegitimate son of Marshall Clanton and Rose Waters, who (according to an urban legend) wears a mask probably made from the skin of his mother's face, to hide his facial deformities. With his father's help, Archie went on a killing spree in Millwood in mid-2022 as the stalker/serial killer known as "A", to avenge the death of his twin sister; Angela Waters.
He was portrayed by Travis Patton.

Backstory[]

Archie and his twin sister Angela were born in 12 March, 1983 in Millwood to Marshall Clanton and Rose Waters. However, Marshall's parents did not support his relationship with Rose, and since the Waters family needed money, the Clantons paid them to move to another city with the children and never return. In the mid-90s,, Marshall became vice principal at Millwood High School, and Rose eventually returned to town with their children.
Rose had schizophrenia and was a religious fanatic, and did not allow Archie to leave the house or study, due to his physical deformity. So she hid his existence from Marshall and made Archie sleep in a dog cage. However, Rose wanted Angela to attend Millwood High to get a decent education. Marshall agreed, but didn't want anyone to know she was his daughter.
In mid-1999, Angela was raped by Tommy Beasley, and his girlfriend Davie Adams took his side and blamed Angela for what happened. Then Davie and her friends Corey Bryant, Marjorie Olivar, Sidney Haworthe, and Elodie Honrada started bullying Angela and instructed all the students in the school to ignore her. At a Y2K rave at the end of 99, Angela decided to kill herself in front of everyone at school, throwing herself from the top of the floor.
Rose then had a freak out and attacked the girls at school, but she was imprisoned in Radley Sanitarium and Archie was left alone, until he was found years later by his father, so they decided to take revenge on the girls for Angela's death. With the help of his father, Archie became the stalker and serial killer known as "A".
At some point, he killed Dr. Anne Sullivan's son; Sebastian.

Original Sin[]
On September 29th, 2022, Archie murdered janitor Jason because he found his secret lair at Millwood High, and began stalking the daughters of Davie, Corey, Marjorie, Sidney, and Elodie, known as "the Little Liars".
He framed Imogen Adams and Tabby Haworthe for vandalizing Karen Beasley's posters, framed Minnie "Mouse" Honrada for putting a dead rat in Karen's backpack, tampered Noa Olivar's drug test to make her fail, and framed Faran Bryant for putting a razor blade in Karen's pointe shoes.
On October, 2022, Archie murdered Karen Beasley during the Spirit Week Dance, because she was a bully.
He later chased Noa into her building and forced her to reveal her mother's (Marjorie Olivar) prescription abuse to Millwood General.
On October 31, 2022, Archie murdered Tyler Marchand during Imogen's Halloween party.
On November 24, 2022, Archie hanged Joseph England to distract the Little Liars.
On December 15, 2022, he kidnapped the Little Liars and their mothers; "the Sinners" to began their "Trial" with his father at Millwood High. At the end of the trial, Archie chased Imogen and tried to kill her on his father's orders, but she managed to knock him out, leading to his arrest. But that didn't last long, as he managed to escape after killing the police officer who was watching him, and finally killed Tom Beasley, the man who had raped Angela in 1999.
During Christmas Eve, Archie went to Chip Langsberry's house (the guy who had previously raped Imogen and Tabby) and stabbed him to death.
Summer School[]
He later killed his remaining victims; Madame Giry, Marjorie's drug dealer, and Steve Bowers. Archie then went to visit his sister's grave in Millwood Cemetery, but ended up being arrested by the police at the scene, and later being sentenced to death for his crimes. Some time later, a new killer posing as his mother Rose appeared to hunt down the "Liars". In prison, Archie was sentenced to death. However, he eventually escaped and killed Dr. Anne Sullivan in her office.
