Kandiaru, or better known as the Architect, is the secondary antagonist in the Korean manhwa and light novel series Solo Leveling, serving as the overarching antagonist of the D-Rank Dungeon Arc and a major antagonist of the Double Dungeon Arc.
He is the creator of the boss of the Double Dungeon, the hidden boss of the same dungeon, and the creator of Sung Jinwoo's program, the "System".
Personality[]
A misanthrope, the Architect is sadistic and bears prideness in his creations against humans. He is shown as also arrogant when upon stumbled that Jin-Woo is beggining to surpass his powers.
To the monarch, they receive high loyalty from him and expesses anger upon learning that Ashborn had committed treason against the Rulers.
Biography[]
After a major event occured when the human world was being invaded by the Monarchs, the Architect decided to assist one of them, Ashborn, by proposing an arrangement. The Architect offered to assist Ashborn in locating a fitting human body to inhabit in order to acquire eternal life from him in return.
Upon the agrement, the entity designed a program known famously known as the "System", something that can greatly contribute in searching for a host for Ashborn to inhabite. Years passed, and a party of hunter entered the dungeon. Many of them were massacred, only leaving a few of them alive and eventually a weak hunter known as Sung Jin-Woo had acquired the power of the system.
However, he did not viewed as Jin-Woo to be the host that can be fitting for the Monarch to possess, but Ashborn chose him anyway.
Double Dungeon Arc[]
The Architect sends Jin-Woo back into the Double Dungeon, upon reaching the the 100th level with the System with the intention of finally now making him the host of the Monarch. Inside the dungeon, the Architect is easily overwhelmed by the S-Rank hunter alongside his minions of statues, thus passing the test. As the Architect waits for Ashborn to arrive there, the Monarch lies to the entity. Instead of making his vessel, Ashborn decides to make Jin-Woo his successor.
Having received the black heart, the heart of the real Shadow Monarch. Eventually, he was slashed into numerous pieces by Jin-Woo as they engage into another battle after he came back to himself.

Trivia[]
- The Architect's true name (Kandiaru) was never really revealed throughout the entire manhwa or novel until later on in the sequel of the series, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. However, this is proven to be false as a quest titled "Great Spellcaster Kandiaru" was given to Jinwoo, unaware by many readers that the Architect's true name was in a quest this whole time.
