I'm a brave man. I am a brave man and yet I am worshipped by all people. And yet, why is it that..... Yeah, it's Rein. It's his fault, it's crazy, it's his fault, it's Rein...! Of course it is! Damn it, damn it! Damn, damn, damn, damn! Me, me, me, me in this place! It can't be over, not here! It's all Rein's fault. I can't die before I can avenge this. I must strike back. Yes, I'm right I am the one. That's why Rein has to cry and beg for forgiveness...!
~ Arios' true delusional nature to King Argus while in prison after his second defeat by Rein Shroud and expressing his hatred for Rein.

Arios Orlando, also known as The Fallen Hero, is a major antagonist in the Japanese light novel franchise The Beast Tamer Who Was Exiled from His Party Meets a Cat Girl From the Strongest Race. He is the arch-nemesis and self-proclaimed rival of the series' main protagonist, Rein Shroud. He is the mortal enemy of Rein's companions (such as Kanade, Tania, Sora and Luna, Nina, Tina Hollee and Iris as well the other demi-humans).

He was voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki in Japanese (who also voiced Joffrey Baratheon in the Japanese dub of Game of Thrones, Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen, along with various other characters). He was also dubbed by Alejandro Saab in English, who also voiced Ponchomon.

Overview[]

He is the former Hero who is chosen to defeat the Demon Lord. However after he betrays his superiors and humanity, he lost his status as a Hero when he was revoked from his title and was imprisoned by the kingdom's king, Argus Van Rollreeze, and his people for allowing the murder of the members from the Adventurer's Guild and failed in his attempt to frame Rein for the murder, due to his delusions of grandeur and betrayal towards his ancestor the First Hero’s legacy and humanity after he had violated his title as a Hero but only to be swiftly defeated by Rein Shroud twice.

He was freed from prison by Monica Eclair (a subordinate of the Demon Lord) and now served the Demon Lord (the ruler of the demons that he was supposed to defeat) for his revenge against Rein and his friends as well everyone who now recognized Arios as a traitor by King Argus and his daughter Princess Sarya, after he was completely humiliated and his reputation as a Hero was forevermore ruined by his arch-nemesis, Rein Shroud. Even though he escaped from prison, Arios remained the most wanted criminal when King Argus and his daughter, Princess Sarya placing a bounty on Arios' head dead or alive, after it was revealed that Arios was the true culprit for the murder of the members of the adventurer's guild.

He was eventually replaced by a woman named Chiffon Nox (who is an A rank promoted to S rank adventurer) as the next Hero when King Argus chosen Ms. Nox due to her selflessness and all loving personality.

Arios eventually transformed into a demon. He then led his own teammates to their deaths in cold blood because believing they've betrayed him due to him being far too evil (or rather it was Arios who betrayed them) or they were just useless to him now, this was shown when Arios allowed Monica to lead Leanne to her death at the hands of Rein and his companions, letting the demons kill Aggath for betraying him and finally allowing Mina to die along with the holy church's archbishop at the hands of the demon army during the war against Arios and the demons because it was due to Mina's betrayal (similar to Aggath) as she decided to form an alliance with Arios' arch-nemesis, Rein Shroud with her new goal was to kill Arios. Arios' attempt to kill Rein was nothing more but an empty threat when Rein killed him bringing an end to his delusions once and for all.

Biography[]

Arios Orlando is a descendant of the First Hero. He became a "Hero" and leader of the Hero's Party to defeat the Demon Lord. Unlike his ancestor, he is a twisted, delusional and ignorant imbecile who only cares about himself. He is the one who banished Rein Shroud (the series' main protagonist) from the Hero's Party out of hatred and jealousy toward Rein, believing he was useless due to his lack of physical and magical prowess. However without Rein, his actions caused the Hero's Party to collapse when he and his three other fellow members of the party was unable to defeat the Demon Lord's army and his fellow members start to hate Arios for his stupid decision to banish Rein (who was the pillar of the Hero's Party and the only one person that the other party members always supported and respected despite believing him to be useless).

Arios and his teammates decided to bring Rein back (while secretly attempting to kick him out again). They reunited with Rein and tried to convince their banished teammate to return to the hero’s party, only for the Beast Tamer to completely ignore Arios and turn his back on them (knowing that they'll use and later kick him out again). Arios insulted both Kanade and Tania by referring to them as Rein's "pets" which caused Rein to simply punch Arios in the face. Arios and his party members challenged Rein and his two companions to a duel.

However, Arios and his fellow members were easily defeated by Rein (his former teammate who became stronger than Arios now due to Rein gaining strength by forging contracts with two members of the strongest races) and his two companions Kanade (a ultimate species from the Cat Race) and Tania (a ultimate species from the Dragon Race).

After suffering his humiliating defeat by Rein, Arios was driven into insanity when he desired to kill Rein and his companions. Arios and the "Hero’s party” tries to search for a new Beast Tamer to replace Rein (but none of them were recruited because they are too weak and pale in comparison to Rein due to them being incapable of making contracts with the ultimate species).

Arios eventually betrayed humanity and allied with Edgar Fromware (a spoiled, bratty mayor and arrogant son of the tyrannical ruler of Horizon, who is revealed to be an obsessive pervert that enjoys torturing, sexually assaulting and raping women that he kidnapped (including those who were married)) to kill Rein together but ended in Edgar's swift defeat by Rein and his companions (when Rein gained even more power by forging more contracts with more ultimate species, the twin sisters from the fairy race (Luna and Sora) and a child of the god race (Niina)).

After Edgar's defeat, Arios and his teammates attempted to procure provisions from Horizon's shops for their journey against the demon lord. However, the angry citizens called Arios and his party cowards (thinking they would defeat the rampaging demon) and refused to provide them with food and other supplies for neglecting them and allowing Edgar to rampage and bring destruction upon the city as well. The citizens banished Arios and his teammates out of Horizon, as the citizens now idolized Rein and his companions as well one of the citizens mocked Arios by declaring that Rein is much more of a Hero than Arios is, causing Orlando’ hatred towards Shroud to increase to near levels of insanity.

Arios orchestrated the murder of the members of the Adventurer's Guild and attempted to frame Rein for the crimes. However, his plan to frame Rein has failed when Princess Sarya revealed Arios as the true culprit. Arios was once again defeated by Rein and was arrested by Sarya and King Argus' knights for his trial.

For his betrayal and his second swift defeat by Rein, King Argus found Arios guilty (for the heinous crimes he committed towards the members of the Adventurer's guild and attempting to frame Rein for the crime only for Arios' identity as the true culprit to be revealed by Princess Sarya and the soon-to-be former "Hero" was defeated by Rein again) as well as stripping Arios of his title as a "Hero" (for violation) and was sent to prison to always be remembered as a self-deluded traitor, causing the Hero's Party to be disbanded. He tried to call his former teammates to free him (as he believed they were still in the kingdom) but little did he know, Aggus, Mina and Leanne were in a different location and they wouldn’t help him for the murders he committed and attempted to frame Rein for. While in the prison after his second swift defeat by Rein and his companions, Arios eventually became a complete deranged lunatic. He later meet King Argus and demanded the ruler (who originally chose Arios as a Hero) to release him. But King Argus merely viewed Arios as a fool when he refused to liberate this ignorant former hero for his betrayal towards the king and for all the trouble he caused humanity, as well announcing to him the day after tomorrow he will be executed. Arios still refused to believe that he had done anything wrong, as well as trying to pin the blame on Rein which only annoyed the King due to his ignorance and seeing his beliefs to be nothing more than a bunch of delusional excuses.

Arios was freed by Monica Eclair (a subordinate of the Demon Lord) from prison and disappeared from the King's palace. He joined the Demon Lord for his revenge against Rein, his companions, and those who now recognized Arios as a traitor due to Rein ruining his reputation as a "Hero" after Shroud easily defeated Arios and completely humiliated him twice. Even when he escaped from prison, Arios is still considered to be humanity's worst of the worst when King Argus and his daughter Princess Sarya placed a bounty on his head, dead or alive just so no human villages or its inhabitants will suffer through Arios' lies and deceptions. Soon after, Arios was mutated into a demon.

Seeing that Aggath, Leanne and Mina was no longer of any use to him, Arios led his teammates to their deaths without even a second thought. He allowed Monica to completely abandon Leanne (who was demonized by Monica) to her death at the hands of Rein and his companions', allowing the demons to kill Aggath for betraying him and finally causing Mina to die along with the archbishop at the hands of demon army after she betrayed Arios and decides to join forces with Rein. However, Mina's efforts to kill Arios didn't falter when during Arios' final battle against Rein Shroud, Arios was killed by Shroud.

Personality[]

Rein Shroud! I'll definitely get you!
~ Arios when the Horizon citizens banished him and his party.

Originally, Arios appears to be a kind person or at least seemed to be. This was until after he chosen as the Hero, Arios became a selfish, deluded and ignorant sociopath who completely abandoned his kindness for the devotion of his delusions of grandeur. He eventually abused his title as a Hero when he believed himself to be the so-called "almighty".

Arios is rather simple, not planning straight usually and always makes unwise decisions. As an opposite of Rein who is polite, Arios is nothing more than an arrogant, ignorant, fame hungry, prideful and delusional man who refused to learn from his mistakes. He is a selfish man when he only cares is himself and has no concern for Leanne, Mina and Aggus because he only viewed them as his disposable pawns rather than his "friends". He is also incompetent when he and his soon-to-be former fellow heroes in a complete disadvantage against the demon lord's army because Rein was a pillar to the Hero Party (which they would've defeated the Demon Lord) while Arios is liability (when he and his former future teammates failed at everything as they were unable to defeat the Demon Lord's army without Rein).

After his first defeat by Rein, Arios drove into his insanity when he desires to get revenge on Rein and wanted to kill him for the humiliation Rein and his companions did to him as far as he betrayed his ancestor's legacy and the Hero's Party for his ridiculous accord. However, his attempted was futile and weak as he was easily defeated by Rein and his companions again. Arios is nothing more than an ignorant and deluded lummox.

He is a cunning and manipulative liar when he manipulate Edgar Fromware to join him due to them having a common enemy who they despised, Rein. Arios only viewed Edgar as a pawn rather than his ally when he still only cares about is himself. He attempted to create a lie when he has a man from the Adventurer's Guild killed and frame Rein for the crimes, but only for his identity as a culprit revealed by princess Sarya. However. this lead both Edgar's and later Arios' defeats by Rein and his companions, as well for Arios to lost his status as the "Hero" and have been sentence to prison by King Argus and his daughter, Princess Sarya for both the crimes he committed and betrayal towards the Hero's Party as far as Arios will always be remembered as selfish, deluded traitor. After joining the Demon Lord's army, Arios manipulated the demons into doing his dirty works for his revenge on Rein and humanity (that denies him).

Arios is also a coward when he begged Rein to don't hurt him. After Edgar's downfall, one of the Horizon's citizens acknowledge Arios' cowardice when he refused to fight against the demonic Edgar (who was a pawn to Arios) when the so-called "Hero" believing he will defeat the Demon Lord while being such a lousy coward.

After being imprisoned due to his second ease defeat by Rein, Arios was suffered a complete mental breakdown and driven into an even greater insanity and hypocrisy, causing him to become a deranged and purely evil lunatic when what's little ounce of redeem qualities and sheds of humanity Arios once had, were completely gone, when he (despite him once human) holds a completely hatred for humanity and his former race (that he was supposed to protect) because every humans always recognized him as a traitor shown how vile and filthy Arios truly is after he gotten completely humiliated from his defeats by Rein Shroud twice. He refused to learn from his betrayal towards his superiors and what he did was wrong.

He is also a xenophobe when he also despised animals which includes Demi-Humans (even from the strongest Tribes) when he called Rein's companions to be his so-called "pets" when believing himself to be powerful than them which is a complete opposite as Arios is far weaker than the demi-humans such as Kanade (from the Cat Tribe) and Tania (from the Dragon Tribe).

According to King Argus, Arios is remained to be deluded as usual when he's still so ignorant and living into a complete denial as he refused to accept the facts that what he has done were wrong and trying to pin the blame on Rein which is nothing but a delusional nonsense when he is making up excuses towards the benevolent ruler.

After he escaped from prison as well lost his status as a "Hero" by the royal family when he was defeated by Rein again, Arios became a complete sociopathic and deluded lunatic who was driven into an even more hypocrisy than he was before due to his own blindly hatred towards Rein for ruining his reputation as a "Hero" and completely written him off as a self-deluded traitor by King Argus and his daughter, Princess Sarya. For being completely insane and delusional, Arios wants to kill Rein even if means to kill anyone who gets in his way (including innocent people and his former party members). These results that Arios is now a completely unredeemable and purely evil villain after he has completely abandoned any trace of his redeemable qualities and ounces of humanity he had left. He still don't care about his former fellow heroes who he has betrayed (Aggath, Leanne and finally Mina) when he never saw them as his friends since he only cares is himself. Arios also developed a strong hatred towards King Argus and his children, Crown Prince Yuki and Princess Sarya for revoking him as a hero and completely painted him as a traitor and most wanted criminal as far they've place a price on Arios' head when Orlando cursed the royal family, when refusing to accept it was his wrongdoings after taking his actions too far. Arios now hold a strong grudge on humanity because he betrayed the people that he was supposed to protect.

Arios is a bond destroying scoundrel when he revealed his true colors and broke his so-called "friendship" with his teammates who were just his pawns in his disposal. He allowing Monica of disposing Leanne and abandoned her to her demise at both Rein and his companions' hands without even a second thought, causing his so-called "friend" Mina (like Aggath) to betray Arios after she realized how filthy and heinous Arios truly is due to Aggath and Leanne's death. He is still a treacherous snake as he was before when he believed Aggath and Leanne's deaths were necessary for his attempt vengeance on Rein for completely humiliated him twice, which shown that Arios is a nothing more but a stupid man due to his extremely low intelligence.

He has no tolerance of betrayals. He had Aggath killed for betraying him in his attempted to kill him after he realized of Arios' insanity. He also intend to kill Mina when she (like Aggath) betrayed him and joining forces with Rein of wanting Arios dead after she realized how filthy Arios truly is where Mina too has inevitably died along with the holy church's archbishop. But the truth revealed that they didn't betrayed Arios for what he did as Arios is the one who betrayed them for what happened to Aggath and Leanne.

Relationship[]

Enemies[]

Ability and Powers[]

  • Physical Power: As the former hero, Arios has superhuman strength. It said he will break his limit to defeat the Demon Lord (but that day has never come after his two-times defeats by Rein Shroud where he has lost his status as the "Hero" for betraying humanity and his superiors). Arios' abilities are far weaker than Rein Shroud (who defeated him twice) and his demi-human companions. Even with new power as a demon, his abilities are still too weak when Rein killed Arios.
  • Swordsmanship: Arios has proficient of swordsmanship and has trained well years prior to the series.
  • Magic: Arios has lightning affinity and is skilled in magic as his abilities were only easily dispelled by Rein's newfound power (although this was thanks to Tania's powers).
  • Manipulation: Though he is a dimwit, Arios manipulate those into doing his bidding. He manipulated his teammates as pawns before he has no more use of them. He also manipulate Edgar Fromware to joining him to kill Rein only for his pawn to fail him. He even manipulate the knights with lies when he framing Rein as a murderer until he and the knights were arrested by Princess Sarya and the other knights, for their actions. Even after he lost his title as a "hero" and humanity considered him to be an imposter who called himself a hero, he manipulate the demons into doing his dirty works for his vengeance upon Rein,
  • Shield of Truths (formerly): The Shield of Truths was formerly Arios' signature shield. It is a living weapon choosing its wielder to be worthy if they are good, selfless and courage. However, due to Arios' evilness, selfishness and cowardice, the Shield deemed Arios to be unworthy of wielding its powers and rejecting Orlando from using the shield during his second fight with Rein Shroud before his ease defeat by the Beast Tamer again. The Shield of Truths was confiscated by King Argus after Arios' disqualification as a Hero. The Shield is now currently goes to the new Hero, Chiffon Nox due to her worthy of its powers for her selflessness and kindhearted nature.

Weaknesses[]

  • Arrogance: Arios' main weakness is his arrogance. He always think of himself as almighty only to be revealed to be an incompetent weakling. After his defeat by Rein twice, his arrogance has gotten Arios the better at him, discarding any trace of humanity or redeemable traits he once had. Due to his arrogance, he cares for nobody but himself. He also never cared about his now-formerly teammates who were just his pawns, not friends.
  • Delusional: According to King Argus and Princess Sarya, Arios is an extremely delusional maniac. His delusion and hatred towards Rein Shroud did nothing but blinding Arios completely. He refused to accept his two-times defeats at Rein's hands due to his delusions of grandeur. Even when he lost his status as a "hero", Arios remained to be deluded as ever while he still believing himself to be the "true hero" and tried to blame Rein which is nothing more than a delusional nonsense by King Argus and Princess Sarya. His own delusions of grandeur has caused humanity to forever remembering Arios as a selfish and delusional traitor. Due to him being blinded by his delusions of grandeur, Orlando refused to learn from his mistakes and what he was done were wrong after he betrayed his superiors and everyone (including his own teammates) for his delusional-still-empty vengeance on Rein. After escaped from prison by Monica, Arios has became even more delusional, twisted and hypocritical than he was before.
  • Low Intelligence: Arios is proven to be very dimwitted. He is reckless when charged up to his enemies without even thinking. Due to him banishing Rein, he has a poor navigation when he and his soon-to-be former teammates were lost in the Lost Forest in months, failing to search the Shield of Truths without Rein. While imprisoned after his second defeat by Rein again, Arios is still so ignorant and/or living in a complete denial when he believed himself as a so-called "true hero" and tries to blame Rein which is nothing more than excuses that he made up as King Argus and his daughter, Princess Sarya considered Arios nothing but a delusional imbecile who only believed himself.
  • Poor Leadership: Unlike Rein, Arios has a very poor leadership. His leadership lead him nothing but failures without Rein, causing Arios to blame Rein for the fault.
  • Cowardice: Arios is also a coward. He begged Rein to don't hurt him when he lost in their duel. After he lost his title as a hero, he used the demons into doing his dirty works and provide protection for him, shown of Arios of becoming an even bigger coward.

After he broke out of prison by Monica, Rein's companions desired to kill Arios for his delusions of grandeur.

    • They once both have a seemingly high ranks until they've lost their status as consequences for their actions due to them violated the terms of their former position, Arios was a twisted "hero" until he was disqualified from his position by King Argus, Edgar used to be a Mayor and the son of the previous Lord of Horizon until he and his father, the former lord were overthrown by Rein, his companions, Stella Enplace and her female knights.
    • They both faced fateful punishment after their betrayals and defeats at the hands of Rein, Arios was defeated by Rein thrice as after his second defeat, he lost his status as the "Hero" and originally imprisoned by King Argus until he escaped by Monica Eclair to join the Demon Lord in order to continue his empty vengeance on Rein but for Arios however, is already completely written off as the most wanted criminal in humanity, dead or alive and finally was killed by Rein during their third and last battle, while Edgar was easily defeated and the demon possessed his body was destroy by Rein as well for Edgar to be either killed or kept alive much longer to be tortured by his former slaves (who were freed by Rein and wants revenge on Edgar for all the suffering they've endured).
