~ Arlo's inner thoughts on John Doe. |
Arlo is a major character in UnOrdinary. After dealing with the consequences of his actions and John's descent into madness, Arlo has started to path of redemption and became the tritagonist of the series.
Appearance[]
Arlo is a very tall (6'3) forth-year high schooler. He has curly blonde hair mixed with his blue eyes. He frequently wears his Wellston uniform along with studs on his ears.
Personality[]
In his initial appearance, Arlo is a very cocky and arrogant teenager. He is calm, collected and strictly adherent to enforcing the rules. He is also manipulating his position by using others to his own favor; he has even gotten away with treating the more powerful Seraphina with such disrespect.
Arlo is completely fixated on the school's hierarchy. As a god-tier (powerful people in the series), Arlo believes he must set an example on the much less talented individuals at school. He strongly believes that other god-tiers need to act their rank and follow the hierarchy, whether they want to or not. This obsession was likely ingrained into him by his Aunt Valerie.
He is not completely villainous, however as he genuinely cares about his school and friends' wellbeing. After dealing with the consequences of his actions, however, Arlo manages to redeem himself and becomes willing to protect his school, mostly Seraphina.
Biography[]
Arlo was raised by his Aunt Valerie to put trust in the hierarchy and presenting herself as a hero to Arlo. She ingrained absolutely trust into the government to her nephew.
Four years before the events of the present, Arlo began his first year as a student of Wellston High School and served as the Jack (one who serves the king) the current King, Rei. Arlo disliked Rei's leniency towards the lower tiers and always found himself helping weaker students. Despite this personality quirk, Arlo admired and respected Rei, especially considering he was actually strong enough to pierce his barrier.
After Rei's graduation, Arlo vowed to take up the mantle of his predecessor. In his second year, he became King of Wellston and went on to enforce his ways. Unfortunately, Arlo found that Rei's rule had left many high-tiers unwilling to cooperate with him. Consequently, Arlo had to deal with the constant fights that broke out, with low-tiers attacking high-tiers and high-tiers doing whatever they wished. Slowly but surely, Arlo built up the school's hierarchy, beating down any troublesome student that dared questioned his power and authority.
Powers and Abilities[]
Barrier[]
Arlo is capable of conjuring a nigh-indestructible Barrier around himself, using it as a force field. He can shrink the barriers on his opponents and also reflect damage upon them. On the downside, if the barrier takes damage, he takes damage as well.
Superhuman Characteristics[]
Arlo is also excelled in hand-to-hand combat without using his ability. In his fight with John, Arlo managed to use his arm to knock away John's windblade, without the aid of his Barrier, with even the very strong Isen is incapable of moving him at all.
Intelligence[]
Adding on to his physical powers, he is also a cunning planner as he was the one who orchestrated Seraphina's suspension as well as other elaborate plans to wear down John's patience and get him to reveal his true colors.
