~ Gregory's signature line before drugging a woman. |
Arlo Gregory is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Lime Chaser". He is a bartender who drugs his female customers so he can pimp them out to a sex trafficking ring.
He was portrayed by Dominique Worlsley.
Overview[]
Gregory is a bartender at The Long Draught Brewery, a bar in Staten Island. He makes extra money by working for a sex trafficking ring. When a member of the ring texts him about what kind of woman a customer wants - hair color, eye color, body type, etc. - he offers to buy a woman matching the description a double shot of tequila. What she does not know is that the lime that comes with the shot is coated in a powerful hypnotic, rendering her barely conscious within minutes. Two members of the trafficking ring then put the woman in their car and deliver them to the customer's hotel to rape.
In "Lime Chaser"[]
One night, the traffickers text Gregory that a customer wants a woman with red hair, so he drugs customer Abby Clark's drink; after she passes out, the traffickers take her to a hotel, where she is gang-raped by two men. She regains consciousness the next morning and goes to the hospital, where Detectives Grace Muncy and Joe Velasco take her statement. She directs them to the bar and says Gregory poured her the last drink she remembers consuming. Officer Tonie Churlish looks into Gregory's social media and finds pictures of him with Muncy's brother, Teddy, who was at the bar on the night of the rape.
Captain Olivia Benson has Teddy brought in for questioning, and he says that, while he had nothing to do with Clark's rape, he is a friend of Gregory's and has seen him overserve women. He agrees to become SVU's undercover informant and goes to talk to Gregory while wearing a body camera. He tells Gregory that he wants a woman he can give to a friend as a "present" for his bachelor party, one who looks like his friend's high school girlfriend; he then shows him a picture of Churlish, who has offered herself up as bait. Gregory agrees and sets up a kidnapping with the other traffickers.
Churlish goes to the bar the following night, with Muncy, Velasco, and Detective Terry Bruno standing by. Gregory pours her a drink, but Muncy distracts him by flirting with him so Churlish can surreptitiously throw hers away. She and Velasco then identify themselves as police officers, while Benson and Bruno arrest Gregory. Churlish collapses in the women's bathroom, having been drugged when she bit the lime, and is driven to the customer's hotel. Fortunately, Teddy, who is posing as a pimp, manages to chase off the traffickers and saves Churlish's life.
Gregory informs on the trafficking ring. While his information leads to several arrests, he still receives a lengthy prison sentence for facilitating multiple rapes.
