Armando Armas is working for his mother [[Isabel Aretas]], who is a drug kingpin and killer, as her right hand man.  Armando Armas is covering his tracks where everybody thinks he is the drug kingpin, but he just a pawn and working for her.  Aretas is the toughest drug lord in Miami and the Miami P.D. or anyone can't stop her.  She is too powerful.  Luckily Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are the top Miami P.D. detectives who took down the toughest drug lords in Miami and the reason why they are the best because they go outside the law to catch them. Mike and Marcus caught one of the assassins and direct him to Armas.  Both of them are unaware that he is working for Aretas who is mastermind behind the drug cartel.  Mike recognizes Armas but he never met him or even speak together until they found each other.  Armas introduce Mike as his illegitimate son that Mike was unaware of.  Armas mother is Julie Mott, who Mike had a relationship a long time ago before they broke up.  Armas was put through adoption and was a foster kid.  He went into a crime since he never met his birth parents and worked with Aretas.  Aretas ordered her men to kill Burnett and Lowrey.  It was a huge car chase and both of them were killed.  Mike took down his son, which he was reluctant to do.  Mike wished he could save him, but it was too late and practically disown him before Rita kills Isabel who shot Armando inserted.

Mike eventually remained loyal to the police, realizing how dangerous Isabel had become. Despite Mike's opposition, Marcus and AMMO join him in Mexico to confront her. At the Hildago Palace, Mike meets Isabel and scolds her for hiding the truth from her.

Marcus confronts Isabel, while Mike tries to explain the truth to Armando. A fight begins between the two, but Mike refuses to fight back. Demanding the truth from her mother, she confirms to Armando that Mike is his father. Isabel inadvertently shoots Armando in the chest while aiming at Mike. Enraged, she tries to kill Mike, but Rita intervenes and shoots Isabel, sending her to fall into the flames below.

Biography

Armando Armas is working for his mother Isabel Aretas, who is a drug kingpin and killer, as her right hand man. He helped her to escape of a Mexican prison. Isabel sends him to Miami, asking him to recover a large sum of money that his father Benito had hidden, as well as to assassinate the people responsible for the arrest of his father and his death in prison. Isabel demands that Armando kill Miami detective Mike Lowrey last. At a party celebrating the birth of Marcus' grandson, Mike is gunned down by Armando and left in a coma for months.

Chastened by Isabel for targeting Mike first, Armando continues to murder other targets on his list during Mike's recovery.
