Armando Barillo is the main antagonist of the 2003 action film Once Upon a Time in Mexico. He is a drug lord is responsible for the death of Jorge Ramírez's partner Archuleta years back. Barillo was a cruel and evil man who was obsessed with plastic surgery ever since his face was disfigured by a rival gang. With the help of his daughter Ajedrez Barillo, a crooked AFN operative. Barillo had two allies: General Emiliano Marquez, who is responsible for the death of El Mariachi's family, and Billy Chambers, an American fugitive.
After Marquez and his army attacked the presidential palace, Barillo was confronted by Ramírez, who was released from captivity by Chambers. Once Barillo killed Chambers, he was killed by Ramírez and El Mariachi, thus ending the coup and saving Mexico.
He was portrayed by Willem Dafoe, who also played Raven Shaddock in Streets of Fire, Eric Masters in To Live and Die in L.A., Bobby Peru in Wild at Heart, John Geiger in Speed 2: Cruise Control, Max Schreck in Shadow of the Vampire, the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Nikolai Diavolo in 007: Everything or Nothing, George Deckert in xXx: State of the Union, Lord Cob in Tales from Earthsea, Rat in Fantastic Mr. Fox, J.G. Jopling in The Grand Budapest Hotel, Jack Lassen in The Simpsons, Ryuk in Netflix's Death Note, Thomas Wake in The Lighthouse and Clement Hoately in Nightmare Alley.
