The Armored Warrior is a minor antagonist and mini-boss in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. He is a mysterious samurai guarding the bridge leading to the Senpou Temple, seeking to stop all who dare to cross.
Biography[]
The Armored Warrior is the father of Robert, a European boy who distributed fireworks across the southern seas. They sold their fireworks as a way to raise funds for their travels. They came to Japan last in search of the "Undying", a curse that granted its wielder immortality. The warrior sought immortality for he wanted to save Robert's life, as he had an untreatable illness.
They soon came to Senpou Temple, as the monks also had intentions of finding the Undying to achieve immortality. They offered the warrior a deal that if he guarded the bridge leading to the temple, they will both cure Robert and grant him the Undying. The warrior did as he was told and guarded the entrance, striking down numerous people who sought the Undying as well. However, unbeknownst to him, the monks used Robert as a test subject in their research for immortality, resulting in his death.
In Wolf's journey to find the Divine Child, he enters the Senpou Temple for answers, but this means he has to cross the Armored Warrior's bridge first. On the bridge, the warrior appears and orders Wolf to put down his sword for the sake of his son. Wolf refuses, making the warrior call him a fool. In combat, Wolf cannot damage the warrior due to his metallic armor. Instead, upon breaking his posture, Wolf will push the warrior backward. The objective is to lure the warrior to the edge of the bridge and push him off. While a slow opponent, the Armored Warrior makes up for his lack of agility with hard strikes from his greatsword, enough for a single combo to wipe out more than half of Wolf's health.
Eventually, if Wolf manages to push the Armored Warrior to an opened section of the bridge, he will fall from the edge. As he plummets to his death, the warrior shouts his son's name. From defeating him, Wolf obtains a Prayer Bead and the Breath of Nature: Shadow latent skill.
