Arnold Nail is the minor antagonist of The Mentalist TV-show. He is a police officer, who had a love affair with a woman, whom he later killed. He was played by Louis Herthum.

Biography

Teresa Lisbon's team heads to another crime scene. Journalist Amber Sutherland has been murdered. Patrick Jane is detained after being pulled over by a police officer named Tom Rowley. Rowley accuses Patrick of speeding. Patrick tries to justify himself by claiming that he is going to investigate a crime. However, Rowley refuses to let Jane go, and he escapes. Patrick arrives at the crime scene, but does not have time to find out anything. Rowley catches up with him and demands that he pay a fine. Meanwhile, it turns out that the murdered journalist was investigating the murder of a certain Ginger Crosswhite. Her husband Ron was accused of her murder. However, Tom Rowley screwed up the reports and Ron did not go to jail. That is why Rowley was transferred from the homicide department to monitor traffic violations. Patrick Jane, meanwhile, reluctantly comes to pay his fine. However, Ron seizes the building and demands that the crime he was accused of be solved. Tom Rowley attempts to kill Ron (thereby violating Arnold Nail's (another police officer involved in the investigation) order to return to his post), but wounds one of the hostages. He is immediately arrested by the CBI. Meanwhile, Patrick Jane realizes that Arnold Neal was having an affair with Ginger Crosswhite. However, she refused to leave her husband, and Arnold, fearing for his career, killed her and falsified the CCTV footage, framing Ginger's husband Ron. If Rowley had not screwed up the reports, Ron would have gone to prison. When Amber begins to realize that something is wrong with the footage, Arnold killed her too. Arnold is arrested.
