I wanna be as high as I was during Life of Pie.
~ Artemis
His brainwashing's been compromised! Seize him!
~ Artemis

Artemis is a one-shot antagonist from the animated series American Dad!. He's an extremist activist who strongly believes in the Occupy Movement. Artemis brainwashed Stan Smith with leftist views through torture methods and tried to get him to blow up Mount Rushmore, turning the heads into history's greatest leftists instead.

He is voiced by Phil LaMarr.

Appearance[]

Artemis is a young blond caucasian male with red glasses. He has a pair of blue ear rings a, a large pair of headphones on the back of his neck, and blue wristband around his arm. His main attire that he was seen wearing in the episode consisted of an orange scarf around his neck, a purple vest, an orange undershirt, blue pants, and pink shoes. He sits in a large motorized wheelchair that has a joystick which he uses to move around. He has a green backpack on the back of his wheelchair.

Personality[]

Artemis is a devout activist to liberal views, the Occupy Movement in particular. He does not go about subjecting those to these views lightly, doing so seemingly by kidnaping and then brainwashing them into submission. Throughout the course of the episode, we are introduced to how dedicated Artemis truly is. He describes himself as a radical, forcing Stan to announce this in his underpants on the news. He even went so far as to try and blow up Mount Rushmore to support his cause, showing that he's willing to undergo more violent means of achieving his goals.

Biography[]

Artemis first surfaced at an "Occupy Rally Reunion" where he met Stan. Shortly after meeting him, they tricked him into sampling ether and he passed out. They brought him to their home, unclothed him, tied him up, and prepared him for "reeducation". It was revealed that they knew he worked for the CIA once they saw his attire. After Stan passed out from the glare of the energy-conservative lights, he was reawakened by Artemis to listen to one of his companions do activist poetry. He was also forced to listen to some activist related podcasts and being locked in a room filled with activist-related media.

Stan later gives in and announces on the news that he is a member of the radical form of the "Occupy" movement. He reveals the groups plans to the camera while in his underpants. It turns out that Artemis's attempts were successful. Stan had returned home with the new beliefs that Artemis had instilled with his brainwashing. Artemis isn't seen for a while after this. It is soon revealed that he was planning to have the now brainwashed Stan use CIA technology to blow up Mount Rushmore. After knocking out Hayley, she wakes up to see Stan announcing his plans with Artemis and his accomplices.

Artemis is seen planning out the misses coordinates on his computer, and later explaining that with a precise blow he would turn the monument into history's greatest leftists. Hayley pretends to go along with their plan to try and call Avery, her brother Steve, and Roger. She is caught and tied up again. Artemis is seen continuing to calculate the missile's coordinates, and then he is brought inside by his friends to get high before the launch. He comes out of his trailer shortly after Stan was cured of his brainwashing, and having him refuse to do the launch. He tells his friends to seize him, but Stan beats them up. Artemis is finally defeated after Stan beats him with his wheelchair.

It was revealed after this that his colleagues were other CIA agents in disguise, using the missiles to test the lasers that had been put in the giant heads.

Trivia[]

  • Artemis seems to enjoy hallucinogenics. Before the missile launch, he and his "friends" got high, and he remarked on how he wanted to be as high as he was during "life of pie".
  • Artemis was originally a member of the multicultural segment of the "Burger King Kids Club". He and his colleagues took off after their fries were changed.
  • It was revealed at the end of the episode that Artemis had an unseen son who would likely seek revenge.
