Arthur is the main antagonist of the infamous 1983 horror musical short film Possibly in Michigan. He is a relentless serial killer set on cannibalizing Sharon, one of the two main protagonists.
He was portrayed by Bill Blume.
Description[]
Arthur appears to be wearing a formal tuxedo and a dummy head with a gaping mouth commonly used for dental practices, he also uses multiple other animal masks. When without the mask Arthur appears as an average Caucasian man with curly dark brown hair and a mustache.
Personality[]
Arthur is a relentless serial killer obsessed with killing and consuming women often using perfumes to make his victims smell better as he eats them. He’s also shown to be quite sadistic as he makes Sharon choose between letting Arthur kill her or letting him take her arms and legs. Despite this Arthur does not appear to be misogynistic as he manly only targets women out of love and often imagines herself as a frog that would turn into a prince with true love’s kiss. He’s also implied to be rather insecure about his appearance as he wears multiple masks to hide his face.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Arthur’s past, but it is possible that he was born into a well-off family, judging by his tuxedo. At some point in his life, Arthur would murder and consume about six of his women friends, and has worn so many masks that he had forgotten who he used to be. He would eventually first meet Sharon at a masquerade ball, located possibly in Michigan, where they would both dance together and make out with each other. Arthur would begin stalking her from thereafter.

After Sharon enters an empty department store to meet her friend Janice, Arthur then enters wearing a dummy head with a gaping mouth. He then begins stalking the two women by following them around the department store. Janice discovers that Arthur has been stalking them throughout the store and she and Sharon run out of the department store to escape, Arthur however continues to pursue them.
Sharon and Janice drive home and say goodbye to each other and return to their respective homes. Arthur waits for Janice to leave and rings Sharon's doorbell, bent on cannibalizing her. Sharon sees him outside on her porch and calls Janice for assistance. Arthur breaks Sharon's window with a rock hiding a corpse's face and corners Sharon in her own home. He then tells her and that she can let him eat her or have her legs and arms dismembered and eaten by him after he hits her. When she asks why he’s doing this he clams it’s because he loves her but he and Sharon begin to fight and Arthur begins to choke her.
Janice then enters Sharon's house and shoots Arthur, killing him. Sharon and Janice dismember Arthur's corpse and cook the deceased body parts into a soup and consume it while naked together. Sharon and Janice then discard of Arthur's skull and bones in the garbage. A garbage truck later comes and takes away the trash bags full of Arthur's bones.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Teleportation: Arthur is fast enough to dodge bullets when only mere feet away from the gun and change the latex mask he is wearing at the same time.
- Apportation: Arthur teleports a wine glass away.
- Self-Resurrection: It is unknown how Arthur is able to be seen stealing a glass of wine after being cut up and cooked though it is apparent this appearance of Arthur is in fact real as seemingly Sharon, Janice, and their dog are able to see him.
- Mask Changing: Arthur changes his masks consistently. When shot at by Janice, he seems to just change masks and is unharmed. Even in death, he is wearing his dog man mask when shot despite being unmasked previously and is seen with his gapping mouth mask.
