~ Brodie trying to keep the BAU from searching his van |
Arthur Brodie is a supporting antagonist in the Criminal Minds episode "Hamelin". He is a convicted sex offender who is briefly suspected of a series of child abductions.
He was portrayed by Jack Erdie.
Early life[]
Brodie is a convicted sex offender, having been arrested for sex-related offences multiple times. Eventually, he was convicted of statutory rape and served 12 years in prison before being paroled, on the condition that he was to have no contact with children.
"Hamelin"[]
During the investigation into the child abductions committed by Wayne Hollis, the BAU begin searching through Iowa sex offenders and come to suspect Brodie, as he was paroled a month before the abductions began and called in sick to work the night before the children were abducted. When BAU Agents Tara Lewis and Spencer Reid find Brodie, he is outside a school watching two girls talking, presumably planning to assault them. Brodie tries to keep Lewis and Reid from searching his van, before attacking Lewis. Reid and Lewis subdue him, however, and put him under arrest.
Back at the station, Brodie is interrogated by Agents Emily Prentiss and David Rossi, who conclude that he is not smart enough to have carried out the abductions. However, Brodie is still reincarcerated, charged with violating his parole and assaulting a federal agent.
