Arthur Ford is the main villain protagonist of the 2019 video game Boneworks. Arthur Ford initially seems to be a Security Director at Monogon Industries, and works with two other colleagues: Hayes M., a Security Engineer, and Alora B, an Encryption Specialist. It's later revealed he is actually a double agent for Gammon USB as he uses their tech to access to void in order to achieve immortality.
Biography[]
At the start of the game, Ford inserts a Gammon USB stick into the BONEWORKS server, which presumably is the cause of the events that lead to MythOS going into lockdown. He barricades himself in a room using two Origin PC boxes. He opens a Sabrelake branded yellow case containing modified virtual reality headset and puts it on. This headset allows Ford to enter MythOS while it is in lockdown.
Once he loads into MythOS, Ford is initially tasked with the Anomalous Item Disposal, a task that has Ford throwing items in their respective "Archive" or "Incineration" bins. After he completes the task, he then takes on a new task: to go to the Clock Tower to reset the clock. As the clock gets stuck at "3:14", likely due to Ford's actions.
Eventually, Ford does make it to the Clock Tower where he is able to repair the Gravity Core. This action causes the tower to explode. Ford takes off the headset, but finds himself in a virtual version of his room. His real life body is unconscious. He gravity-grabs a crowbar and puts it in his holster before putting his headset back on. He then finds himself in a game called Fantasy Land. In the land, Ford also faces dozens of clones of himself including one who is the "King." Ford is challenged to a duel with the king and after winning, he takes his crown and becomes the new king. However, Ford didn’t didn’t come to be the new king, he came to FantasyLand to enter the void, so he comes to an unfinished part of the game where he enters to void completely. But shortly after that, (in real life) some agents break into his room where they find his brain dead body. They take off his modified headset, then a man in a black suit with a blurred face enters the room. The man loads a pistol and shoots Ford in the head. However, Ford’s mind and virtual body remain in the Void, where he achieves immortality, ultimately getting what he wanted in the end.
