Arthur "Artie" Ziff is the main antagonist of "Bart and Homer's Excellent Adventure", a segment from the Simpsons episode "Treehouse of Horror XXIII".
He is a former billionaire and owner of Ziffcorp who molested Marge Simpson so she can be married with him instead of Homer, after Bart caused a paradox by not having Marge in love with Homer in the year 1974. By having Marge with him, he turns Bart into Bartie Ziff and has Nelson as a butler. Homer later realizes this and, with the help of his past self and the United Federation of Homers Through History, attempts to get his life back. However, they all get defeated by Artie's Brazillian jujustu. Marge eventually realizes that she married the wrong man and dumps Artie, going back with Homer instead.
Biography[]
After Bart changed history by having Marge avoid being in love with Homer back in school in 1974, Artie Ziff had Marge marry him instead by molesting her the night before Bart came back into the present. Past Homer later realizes this in the present as well, as he hitched a ride in the trunk of Bart's time travelling car.
Bart then sees Marge (now known as Martie Ziff), who is now living inside a rich mansion owned by Artie Ziff, making him shocked of how his life had changed from the paradox he caused back in the past. Artie then proclaims that Bart is now part of his family as Bartie Ziff. Meanwhile, Homer and his past self watch them from above a tree and think of a plan to get Marge back into his own life. Artie then has Bart play a game of "I love my life, i love it not" with a whip on a flower held by Nelson.
Homer then bangs on the door, where he orders Artie to give him his life back, but Artie expected this, so he had learned Brazillian jujustu. But before he could attack Homer, the latter introduces him to the United Federation of Homers Through History, several versions of Homer from different time periods brought into the present by Past Homer. Seeing the Homers as threats, Artie and Bartie beat them all up with their martial arts, resulting in them being defeated after five minutes. Despite their defeats, Homer would finally get Marge back, as the latter realizes that she married the wrong man and ultimately breaks up with Artie Ziff, correcting the paradox that Bart had done earlier.
Trivia[]
- In an alternate ending of the segment, Artie Ziff was erased from existence alongside the other Homers.
