Without turning, Dooku praises the stealthiness of the substitution, claiming his guide would be impressed if he had not just been killed, but told her he was not looking for a spy.

Taking up her lightsaber, Skywalker continued to strike at her with vicious slashing attacks and power lunges.

Filled with rage, Skywalker furiously attacks Ventress, driving her to the edge of the temple peak.

Asajj Ventress brought to her knees during the fight.

Taking one of her curved-hilt lightsabers, Anakin repeatedly striked her, having brief visions of Jinn, Kenobi, and Yoda deeply troubled by what he was doing.

Asajj holds on for dear life as Skywalker continues to assault her.

He struck harder and harder until the force from the attacks made the stone she was standing on crumble, causing her to fall off of the edge of the temple.

Finally, the ledge under Ventress's feet collapses and she plunges screaming into a massive chasm.

Ventress fell through the ledge into a chasm apparently to her death, but she would escape wounded but alive on the planet.

Asajj Ventress contacts Count Dooku from the abandoned monastery on Teth.

Dooku tells Ventress that everything is going as planned.

Ventress thanks her master as he praises her work.

Ventress kneels when Lord Sidious enters the hologram transmission.

Asajj and 4A-7 witness the Jedi's arrival on Teth.

Ventress enters a room surrounded by B2 super battle droids.

Asajj Ventress pulls out a comlink from the sleeve of her robe.

Ventress contacts Count Dooku telling him the Jedi have taken the monastery.

Ventress insisted that she could kill both the Master and Padawan at that moment, the Count cautioned patience.

Dooku promised an opportunity to hunt the Jedi once she had record of them with the Huttlet.

A battle droid informs Ventress that the Jedi have entered the dungeons.

Ventress and 4-A7 collected a recording of the Jedi manhandling the child and sent the data to Dooku who instructed his apprentice that she was now to recover the Huttlet and return him to Jabba.

As the droids struggled with getting through the monastery's sealed outer blast door Asajj quickly lost her patience and simply cut through the controls.

Ventress ordered her droids to lock down the monastery.

Asajj orders the droids to take care of what is left of the clones.

Rex attempted to kill Ventress but managed only to destroy a command droid.

Ventress deflected all of his blaster bolts with her saber-staff.

The droids opened fire on Skywalker as he continued to duel Ventress.

Asajj maintains her balance while fighting Anakin on the rancor's back.

When Ahsoka attacked the rancor, stabbing it in the foot it began to jerk around in pain causing Skywalker and Ventress to lose their balance.

The rancor threw off the two duelists on its back.

Skywalker and Ventress fight while the beast attacks Tano.

Anakin and Asajj locked in a blade-lock in the execution pit.

Anakin kicks Ventress backs and she maintains her stance crossing her crimson blades.

Ahsoka jabs her saber into the rancor's sensitive snout and begins to stagger backwards towards a worried Ventress.

The rancor fell back in pain and collapses with a furious Sith apprentice beneath it and the Jedi were able to escape.

As Ventress ignited her lightsaber into the rancor's rear, the creature reared up and clung to the ceiling, allowing the Dark Acolyte to escape.

While she continued the search for the Jedi in the monastery, Ventress was informed by her droids that Republic reinforcements had arrived.

Ventress tells the droids they must hurry.

Recognizing the need to accelerate her plans, she ordered her fighters and droids to engage the new Republic forces.

Asajj as a hologram tells the droids to hold them off to buy her enough time to complete the mission.

She soon discovered the Jedi attempting to flee.

Ventress accompanied by droidekas attempt to catch the Jedi but their astromech sealed a blast door in front of her, halting her advance.

Ventress activates both of her lightsaber blades.

Asajj began cutting through the barrier.

Ventress was able to cut through the door.

By the time Asajj made it outside, Skywalker was nowhere to be found.

Ventress and the new Padawan Tano engaged in a brief duel.

In a rage, she threw the droid off the mesa.

Dooku contacts Ventress demanding an update.

Dooku asks his apprentice if she has recovered Jabba's son yet.

Ventress informs her master that Skywalker was still in possession of the Hutt and has eluded her but promised he would not escape the system alive.

Dooku reminded Asajj of the stakes of their conspiracy that only they must return Jabba's son alive.

When Asajj said she would double her efforts, Dooku says for her sake he hopes she does.

Ventress in the hologram was distracted by the arrival of Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was leading the Republic reinforcements.

Upon entering the monastery, Kenobi encountered Ventress with her two super battle droid bodyguards.

Ventress taunts Kenobi stating he's always chasing after Skywalker.

Ventress brandishes her lightsabers when Kenobi insults her.

Asajj Ventress orders her bodyguards to kill Obi-Wan while she flees.

Although she lurked in the upper reaches of the monastery for a time, Kenobi's prodding and taunting eventually drew her down to engage the Jedi on a level field.

Ventress appeared from above and attacked Kenobi.

Asajj Ventress retreated into an antechamber in the monastery, luring Kenobi into a one-on-one battle in the darkness.

As the two exchanged lightsaber blows, Ventress pulled off her skirt and flung it at Kenobi.

Taking advantage of his momentarily blocked sight, Ventress attempted to lunge at him.

However, Kenobi was able to block her oncoming blows.

The duel saw both combatants enjoy the advantage for a time.

Obi-Wan and Ventress duel each other in the darken monastery.

Kenobi tells Ventress she will have to do better than that.

Kenobi continues his duel with Asajj.

Ventress managed to disarm Obi-Wan of his lightsaber.

Asajj attacks with two blades, but Obi-Wan stands firm against her attack, coolly parrying each crimson blade in turn.

Ventress and Kenobi moved their duel to another part of the monastery.

Obi-Wan backs away from Asajj's blades.

Backing Kenobi against a pillar, Ventress lunged forward, but Kenobi ducked, and Ventress slashed the pillar instead of her intended target.

After blade-locking with the Dark Acolyte, Kenobi Force-pushed Ventress backward.

Obi-Wan back-flips as Asajj does the splits while trying to strike.

Kenobi backed away as Asajj tried to rush him.

Continuing the duel, Ventress charged at Kenobi, and the Jedi Master used two pillars to jump onto an upper platform on the side of the room.

Kenobi affirmed to Ventress that the Confederacy's plan to turn the Hutts against the Jedi would not succeed.

Ventress retorted that the plan would be effective when the truth died with him.

She raised her blades to her face preparing to cut him down.

The Dark Acolyte dragged her lightsabers across the platform.

She leaped into the air and unleashed a series of overhand attacks.

Kenobi was able to block the blows and countered a powerful downward slash from Asajj Ventress.

Kenobi pushed his adversary backward, and Ventress joined her lightsabers to form a saberstaff.

Kenobi and Ventress stare down each other.

Kenobi leaped through a window to an external rampart of the monastery, and Ventress immediately gave pursuit.

Kenobi found command of the conflict when he led her to a catwalk outside the monastery where they both sensed through the Force that Skywalker and Tano had escaped Teth with the Huttlet.

Obi-Wan told Ventress she failed by letting them escape.

Enraged, Ventress continued to drive Kenobi backward.

Ventress uses her saberstaff against Kenobi.

Obi-Wan maneuvers against Asajj's lightsaber strikes.

Kenobi was able to disconnect his adversary's saberstaff.

Ventress angered that her weapon was damaged.

Ventress shrugs it off and resumes her assault.

Asajj dives into Obi-Wan's blades.

Kenobi blocked the Dark Acolyte's lightsabers and pushed them against the sides of the platform, flicking one out of her hand and into the jungle below.

Deprived of one of her weapons, Ventress summoned a vulture droid for an escape before continuing the duel.

Asajj crouched down and called Kenobi Jedi scum.

Although she attempted to continue the attack, Ventress tried to fight with one lightsaber.

Kenobi forced Ventress backwards.

Ventress angered when Kenobi tells her the Hutt is safe and they have won and ordered her to surrender.

Ventress and Kenobi see the summoned Vulture-class droid starfighter suddenly approaching.

Ventress jumped off the catwalk towards the starfighter.

Asajj was forced to retreat and escaped aboard the vulture droid.

To assist the Sith Lord in his deception of Jabba, Ventress reported via hologram to Dooku and Jabba that the Republic had killed Rotta, enraging the Hutt.

In failure, Ventress was forced to contact Dooku and explain to him and Jabba the Hutt that Skywalker had killed Rotta before she could intervene.

Although Dooku had hoped she at least managed to kill the Jedi after losing control of the Huttlet, she admitted that Skywalker had escaped.

However, Ventress was unable to prevent the escape of Skywalker who was now on his way to Tatooine to kill Jabba.

Dooku tells Ventress he's sure she did the best she could but he would discuss her failure later and Ventress bowed before ending the communication.

To distract the Jedi while Slick sabotaged their base and a massive army of droid reinforcements landed on Christophsis, she confronted Kenobi and Skywalker in the upper floors of the tower.

The Jedi arrive at the enemy base and inside, they meet a cloaked Asajj Ventress.

Upon arriving at the base, Skywalker and Kenobi were greeted by the hooded figure of Asajj Ventress.

Ventress removes her hood to greet the Jedi.

Obi-Wan tells Ventress here he thought the mission would be unpleasant but she says the pleasure is all hers.

Ventress removes her cloak and ignites her two crimson blade sabers.

Upon sight of each other, all three adversaries ignited their lightsabers.

Kenobi stopped them with the Force, and Skywalker's added telekinetic assistance forced the books back at Ventress.

Confident that her forces were in position and that Slick had done his duty, she deactivated her weapons and sat on the floor.

With the pleasantries done, Dooku bowed respectfully and ended the transmission leaving his apprentice to deal with the king.

Asajj Ventress stood as the king was pleased to see the Jedi Master, having previously believed that Dooku had frightened him away.

Yoda became aware of Ventress' presence, as the Dark Acolyte proposed a contest to demonstrate which side was superior in strength.

Katuunko witnessed the ensuing skirmish from afar, commenting that Master Yoda's surrender was generating an unusual amount of smoke.

King Katuunko, fully convinced that the contest was over, contacted Count Dooku.

The Count would not allow Toydaria to fall to the Republic, so ordered his apprentice to kill the king and make way for a pro-Separatist monarch.

Dooku decided that negotiations with Katuunko's successor would be more productive, and ordered his apprentice to kill the Toydarian monarch.

Both royal guards moved to defend their king, but Ventress deflected their blasterfire.

Ventress Force pushed the guards away.

Katuunko's guards tried to stop the Dark Acolyte, but Ventress merely Force pushed them aside, knocking them unconscious.

Ventress moved to kill the king with her paired lightsabers.

Ventress had been stopped mid-strike by Master Yoda, who had arrived just in time to telekinetically halt her attack with the Force.

As Ventress attacked Katuunko with her paired lightsabers, she found herself confronted by Yoda, having arrived in time to save the king by using the Force to stop her death blow from being struck.

She nearly succeeded in the task, but her lightsaber blades were halted midstrike by Master Yoda's telekinetic intervention.

But the Dark Acolyte deflected and rebounded the lasers, killing all of the Commandos save for Argyus.

In order to keep the Separatist agent's cover from being compromised, Ventress attacked him as well and Force pushed him toward the control station, knocking him unconscious.

Breaking away from dueling Tano, Ventress reached Nute Gunray's cell.

Gunray's freedom was short-lived; Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, who was overseeing the prisoner transfer, returned from battling the droids with Clone Commander Gree and engaged Ventress.

Nevertheless, Unduli arrived at the detention blocks with the clone troopers, changing the course of the fight with her reinforcements.

As Luminara runs towards her and the viceroy, Ventress activates her lightsabers.

Running to engage Ventress, the Jedi Master also telekinetically deactivated the laser bars of Tano's cell and Ventress now has to deal with two combatants.

Using the Force, Unduli released Tano from her prison and together the two Jedi attacked Ventress.

Ventress dueled both Jedi at once, and Unduli ordered the Dark Acolyte to surrender.

Ventress seemingly surrenders, lowering her weapons.

With no intention of giving up, Ventress activated the explosives planted in the engine room and the Tranquility shook under the resulting blast, and as everyone in the room lost their balance.

Ventress took the opportunity to Force push Unduli to the ground.

The Jedi Master rolled aside, avoiding several lightsaber slashes aimed at her head.

Ventress leapt over her, escaping past the Jedi Master and her troops.

Although the clone troopers opened fire at the Dark Acolyte, Ventress jumped over them.

Ventress runs down the corridor blocking blaster fire.

The Dathomirian ambushed Unduli and temporarily blinded the Jedi by slicing open an exposed pipe that immediately blasted gas into her opponent's face.

Asajj diffused a pipe and injuring Unduli's left eye.

With Luminara injured, Ventress takes the opportunity to rush her.

The Jedi Master back flipped onto another reactor with Ventress in pursuit.

The two continued their duel throughout the upper levels of the room.

Unduli duels in the smoldering room where she is promptly pounced upon by Ventress.

Vision clouded by a blast of steam, Luminara realizes her enemy is the stronger fighter.

Ventress taunts Luminara asking her if she can still call on the Force when she kills her.

Unduli commented on the sloppiness of Ventress' fighting style, seeking to distract her adversary.

Ventress grew more enraged at the Jedi when she criticized the assassin for sloppy lightsaber combat discipline.

By underestimating her opponent, Unduli could learn the lesson too late.

Enraged, Ventress jumped toward Unduli, and the two continued their fight with renewed force.

In the Jedi Cruiser's reactor room, the Mirialan Jedi Luminara Unduli barely sees Ventress in time to avoid her saber.

The two combatants continued their duel in the malfunctioning engine room.

Luminara barely misses a trap set by her enraged enemy.

Ventress attempted to Force push Luminara off the engine platforms.

Ventress and Unduli employed Force pushes against each other.

After a few moments, both Jedi Master and Dark Acolyte released the energy and were pushed backward.

Being thrown back, Asajj crouches retaining her battle stance.

Unduli jumped over Ventress, aiming several lightsaber blows before landing behind her.

The pair turned back around to face each other.

Ventress lunged at the Jedi Master, but instead of slashing at her, she kicked her off the reactor to the floor far below.

As Unduli fell and lost hold of her lightsaber, Ventress jumped up and detached several fuel pipes from the ceiling.

Before descending to finish off her opponent, the Dathomirian leaped to the ceiling and severed several large pipes, sending them crashing down atop Unduli below.

Ventress tells Luminara she'll fall as all Jedi must.

The Jedi Master was trapped beneath one of the pipes when Ventress reached her.

Taking advantage of Unduli's vulnerability, Ventress leaped to kill the Jedi Master, lightsabers spinning.

But before the killing blow could be made, she was interrupted by Ahsoka Tano, who used the Force to throw her backwards into one of the severed pipes.

Ventress climbed out of the severed pipe.

Making use of Dooku's training to duel more than one Jedi at once, Ventress engaged the two Jedi.

Tano freed Unduli and returned her lightsaber in time for them both to defend against Ventress, who attacked them simultaneously.

The assassin showed her very formidable lightsaber skills by engaging the two Jedi.

Asajj briefly loses her composure when dueling Tano and Unduli.

Tano and Unduli face off against Ventress.

Ventress eventually ascended the large reactors and disappeared from sight to keep Unduli and Tano occupied.

She again fled into the upper levels of the engine room after a short duel.

Believing Ventress to be after Gunray, the Jedi jumped up and searched for Ventress, but the Separatist agent instead used her stolen comlink to secretly signal Argyus to free the viceroy.

Receiving word of Argyus's betrayal form Gree, the two Jedi headed back to the detention level to assist the clone while Ventress spotted them.

When CC-1004 contacted the Jedi to inform them of Argyus's betrayal, their rush back to the detention level was halted by Ventress.

Intending to keep them occupied, Ventress hurled a pipe at them with the Force.

Asajj used the Force to pelt them with pieces of piping and debris before jumping down.

Turning around, Unduli severed the projectile and Ventress activated her twin blades.

Ventress shouts out a war cry as she rushes the Jedi.

Luminara and Tano continued their duel, engaging Ventress in a saberlock.

The Dathomirian cackled as she held Unduli and Ahsoka in a saberlock.

Ventress cackled as she engaged the Jedi in a saberlock.

Back in the engine room, Tano and Unduli took turns advancing at Ventress.

She was able to combat both the Jedi but ultimately had to give ground and did a back flip.

Ventress escaped as the explosive detonated.

Her mission accomplished, Ventress activates several leftover explosives to cover her escape.

Ventress made her way to the Tranquility's escape pod bay.

She slew two clones before boarding a pod and departing the crippled Star Destroyer.

Stealing a pod for herself, Ventress departed the Tranquility.

Her pod rendezvoused with Gunray and Argyus's stolen frigate a short distance from the Tranquility and entered the cockpit.

In space, Ventress docked her escape pod to the Consular-class cruiser and climbed aboard where Argyus cockily claimed their plan worked.

She found the Senate Captain boasting about his success and claiming credit for the mission.

Captain Argyus gloats about his success, cockily mentioning to Asajj that he'll ensure her contributions to their rescue efforts will be noted in his report to Count Dooku.

On the eve of the attack she contacted Grievous from deep beneath the waves of the Kaminoan oceans to inform the general that she had completed her first phase of the operation and was in position to begin the attack.

She explained to Ventress that their failed assassination demonstrated to Dooku his own vulnerability, and that the Sith Lord would now be eager to protect himself — specifically, by finding a new pupil with which to replace her.

After Talzin contacted the Count, Ventress entered the room and swore that she will see Dooku dead.

Talzin states that so she shall and smiles deviously.

Dooku traveled to Dathomir to hold audience with Talzin and Ventress hid among her sisters during the meeting but monitored her old Master until his departure from the planet.

Ventress and Talzin decided to find a new dark side acolyte for Dooku - one who would be secretly loyal to the Nightsisters.

Ventress smiles pleasantly when Talzin says the new assassin will be their pawn.

Talzin states they will use their magics to manipulate the assassin and Ventress finishes that Dooku will pay for his betrayal with his life.

After Dooku departed, Talzin sends Ventress herself to select a skilled Nightbrother from the men's village on the far side of Dathomir and transform that warrior into a beast slaved to her will.

Asajj puts on her mask and follows her mother's orders.

With four warriors remaining, the second test, the Test of Night, takes place in darkness.

Night fell on Dathomir as Ventress and Viscus began the second test of the selection with Ventress saying that they must see what cannot be seen.

Impressed, she accepted the two brothers into the third and final test.

Opress and Feral completed the test of darkness, in which they had to face Ventress hidden in the shadows and their own fear.

Being the only two surviving contenders in the Selection, Opress and Feral were faced with the third and final challenge.

The challenge began in which she would fight them to the death on ceremonial platforms that raised and lowered unpredictably.

Ventress watched as Talzin and her coven of spellcasters came together to perform an enhancement ritual, using dark magicks to transform the Zabrak's body and mind.

The Nightsisters complete the process which was an overwhelming success, causing Opress to grow in both size and ferocity.

Ventress leans in as Mother Talzin restores him to consciousness.

When the ritual was complete, Talzin reawakened Opress.

After Opress awakened, he turned his attention towards Asajj.

Now a monstrous warrior whose sole purpose was to kill all those in his path, Opress' first instinctive act when awoken was to choke Ventress with his bare hands.

Although he initially ignored her protestations, Talzin's magick made him obedient to the Nightsister in the proper context, and so Ventress was able to order him to release her with a calm and soft command.

Savage reflexively clutches Ventress' throat - surprised, Asajj uses the Force commanding him to release her.

After obeying her command to release her, he stood up off the altar.

Ventress and Mother Talzin gaze in awe at the sight of the monstrous Zabrak.

To ensure his loyalty to her above all else, Ventress ordered the prisoner to be brought in.

Ventress tells her new warrior of the final test.

Ventress brought forth Feral, who had been abducted from the Nightbrother village after Opress was selected and taken away.

Ventress ordered Savage to kill Feral to prove his obedience and merciless nature.

He hesitated briefly and Asajj slapped him and commanded him again to kill his brother.

For all the care and protection that he had afforded Feral up to that point, he derided his brother's pleas for mercy and strangled him in a single stroke in a monstrous display of cruelty.

Opress ultimately grabbed his brother by the throat and strangled him to death.

The Nightsisters forced Opress to kill his beloved brother, Feral; Savage complied, murdering Feral in cold blood and proving his obedience to Talzin and Ventress.

Ventress tells Savage that he will learn to draw his strength from his emotions.

For weaponry, Talzin conjured an enchanted pike from raw spirit ichor for Opress.

Thus assured of her agent's allegiance, Ventress gave Opress a short first lesson in the practice of the dark side — to draw power from hate and never sympathize with the enemy, beginning what was to be an abusive method of teaching for the Nightbrother.

Assured of her pawn's allegiance and skill, Ventress claimed it is time for Dooku to meet his new apprentice.

Talzin, realizing that Opress could no longer be kept a secret from the galaxy and not wanting to incriminate herself or her clan, she met with Ventress to discuss their progress.

The younger woman believed that her assassination plot was not yet prepared as he needed more training.

Talzin insisted that she needed to strike now, as Opress had been revealed to the galaxy.

With things running tight, Talzin assigns Ventress to join her servant and strike at Dooku immediately before the deception is discovered and Ventress declares she will have her revenge.

Mother Talzin comforts Asajj telling her she will have her vengeance.

Ventress gave in to the Mother's wishes and followed the Jedi to Toydaria.

Ventress meanwhile infiltrated the Confederate Providence-class destroyer in orbit, and shocked both of them when she interrupted the torture.

Ventress tells her old master that's no way to treat his apprentice as she should know.

Dooku orders Savage to kill her and Ventress cackles.

Although Dooku told Opress that he could make amends for his mistake by killing Ventress, the Nightsister begged to differ.

The Sith Lord then attempted to recover his lightsaber with a Force pull, but his former apprentice managed to pull it as well, sending it flying to another part of the bridge.

Asajj runs on the wall towards Dooku.

Without his lightsaber, all Dooku could do was dodge and evade.

Ventress hacked and slashed at him with her blades.

Dooku backs away as Ventress advances upon him.

Opress once again tried to strike down the Sith while he faced Ventress.

Ventress and Savage aggressively assail Dooku.

As he continued to electrocute the Zabrak, Ventress swung her blades at Dooku, who ducked away.

Dooku pulled his lightsaber back into his hand with the Force.

The two continued to duel as Opress recovered.

Ventress tries to impale the Count but he avoids her attacks.

Regaining his lightsaber, Dooku focused on dueling Ventress.

Standing up, the Nightbrother attempted to lunge at Dooku, only to be greeted by another blast of Force lightning.

Asajj attacks Dooku, commanding Savage to rejoin the fight.

Ventress, disgusted at his weakness, repeatedly ordered him to kill Dooku.

Ventress bristled at her pawn's inability to strike at Dooku while she continued to fight.

Dooku simultaneously counters Opress attacks with more Force lightning, preventing him from rejoining the fight.

When Opress admitted that Dooku was too strong, Ventress became even more enraged, saying that his lack of ability would not be her undoing.

Furthermore, Ventress remained unsympathetic to Opress's lack of success, refusing to let his weakness be her downfall.

Dooku responded that a failed apprentice made for an awful teacher.

Both Ventress and Dooku criticize her pawn's inability to strike at Dooku and began berating him for his weakness.

The derision from Ventress and torture from Dooku was ultimately too much for the Nightbrother to handle, and so he broke free from his bonds of servitude and attacked both of his masters, grabbing them in a powerful Force choke.

Opress, torn between his loyalty to Ventress and his inability to defeat Dooku, roared in fury and used the Force to choke both of them, lifting them off the ground.

Dooku and Ventress both struggled helplessly as Opress threw them both across the room, slamming them into the wall.

As the pair got to their feet, Opress lunged in and began to attack them both, striking at them.

Savage finally snapped under the strain of his abusive training, turning his fury on both Dooku and Ventress.

Opress directed overpowering lightsaber strikes at his opponents, knocking Ventress backwards towards a wall.

To counter Opress' brute force, Ventress and Dooku teamed up, using telekinesis and Force lightning, respectively, in concert to hurtle the Nightbrother against the entry door.

The truce did not last long, however, as the Count attempted to electrocute Ventress, who absorbed the bolts into her lightsaber.

Ventress briefly weakened by the lightning attack.

As Dooku escaped the fray, Ventress gave pursuit, leaving Opress in the count's observation chamber.

In the corridors below the bridge, Asajj pursued Dooku.

Ventress followed Dooku into the lower levels of the destroyer where she once again confronted her former Master.

Ventress retaliates that that remains to be seen and brandishes her blades.

Ventress was able to narrowly avoid death by using the Force to push his blade into the piping beside her instead.

Just as the blade was about to pierce her, Ventress Force pushed the blade, causing it to miss her by inches and, instead, stab into a steam line.

Harsh gasses flowed out of the severed pipe and into Dooku's face, allowing Ventress just enough time to retreat.

Ventress seized the opportunity and recovered her lightsabers with the Force.

Asajj dived into an escape pod and jettison to safety.

Weakened and outmatched, Ventress finally retreats in an escape pod, jettisoning toward Toydaria below.

Ventress escaped again, ejecting from Dooku's ship in an escape pod - and facing an uncertain future.

The debacle at Toydaria rattled Ventress, who took to wandering the stars for a time to contemplate her next moves then eventually decided that the time had come to return to Dathomir and make it her home.

She traveled back to the planet aboard an HH-87 Starhopper and was greeted by her sisters.

Ventress returned to Dathomir to once again seek refuge with Mother Talzin.

In a baptism of dark magics, Ventress is bathed in a shimmering green mist.

The coven performed the magic ritual to rebirth her.

The Nightsister was wrapped in magical ichor by the Mother, and lifted from the lake.

The initiate was bathed in magic ichor while the Clan Mother proclaimed the baptism rites.

Ventress underwent the initiation ritual completing the spell.

For a moment, Asajj's eyes rolled back into her head.

Ventress' eyes returned to their natural state, signifying the beginning of her life as a Nightsister.

Mother Talzin ultimately declared Asajj Ventress to be a reborn Sister of the Night.

Talzin called for a feast to celebrate the formal return of their long-lost sister.

After the baptism, the Nightsisters organized a feast to celebrate the arrival of their new Sister.

Talzin joined her clan as they gathered outside the great edifice of the village to recognize the induction of their newest member.

Karis tells Asajj she is privileged to be her sister.

Ventress thanks Karis for the kind words.

Ventress suddenly hears the approach of the incoming starfighters from the skies.

During the celebration of her baptism, Ventress recognized the familiar sound of droid starfighters and realized before the rest that the coven was under assault.

Interrupting the Nightsisters celebration of Ventress' return, the droids attacked their village.

She ordered her sisters to scatter just as Vulture droids and Hyena bombers made their first attack runs on the fortress.

The Nightsisters took cover as the bombers attacked their home, scattering for cover from the bombing runs.

Understanding that the Confederacy had come to Dathomir to end the Nightsisters, Talzin ordered her clan to prepare for battle while Ventress readied herself to lead the fight.

Talzin rallied her sisters for the defense of their home and lives.

Ventress was upset that her presence brought Dooku's wrath upon her people.

Talzin encouraged her to push past her regret as now was the time to fight.

Ventress knew that Grievous was leading the battle and Talzin told her to use her knowledge of the Separatist battle droids to lead their people to victory.

The droids continued their bombing runs against the fortress, where Ventress stood.

A squadron of Hyena-class bombers and droid tri-fighters continued to besiege the stronghold, targeting the supports of the village entrance where Ventress, Talzin and Karis took cover.

One of the supports fell on the Nightsister Karis shocking Talzin and Asajj.

The bombs caused a pillar to fall, breaking apart into debris which crushed Karis before she could get out of the way and Ventress ran to her sister.

Asajj used the Force to move the part of the pillar that had fallen on her.

Ventress levitated the beam away with the Force.

Asajj managed to pull her out, but Karis said her last few words about leading the Nightsisters to victory, and died.

Ventress took a moment to mourn her fallen sister.

Ventress was left with no time for regret and activated her crimson blades.

Recognizing that the witches were vastly outnumbered, Ventress informed Talzin that they would need an army to have any chance at defeating Grievous.

Talzin told Ventress she would seek out Old Daka, an elder witch who would be able to assemble the required reinforcements.

Ventress rushed into the fray against the first wave of droids, leading her sisters in an offensive against the invading army.

Sustained by Daka's Chant of Resurrection, the deceased sisters were reanimated as zombies, arriving to aid Ventress to push back the Separatists.

The undead sisters mindlessly ripped through the Separatists' ranks, smashing through everything in their path.

Their arrival gave Ventress the opportunity to press her attack against Grievous and his droid army.

Asajj removes the destroyed battle droid from the tank with the Force.

With their respective armies holding their distance, Ventress met Grievous in the no-man's land and challenged him to single combat.

Grievous battles Ventress to force her army to surrender.

The two longtime rivals began to duel, engaging in saberlock after saberlock.

Ventress employed her dual lightsabers against Grievous' four.

At one point, Grievous kicked Ventress backward.

At first, Grievous appeared to have the upper hand and toyed with Ventress.

The Nightsister responded with a furious attack.

Ventress and Grievous combine all six lightsabers together in a clash.

Asajj and Grievous outmaneuver each other.

Ventress and Grievous continue dueling each other while their armies stand and watch.

The two then engaged in a fierce lightsaber duel and initially seemed equally matched.

Asajj relentlessly battered at her adversary's defenses.

In a lightsaber duel, Ventress gets the better of Grievous.

Ventress severed one of Grievous' four mechanical arms and knocked him to the ground.

Ventress stands victorious over her fallen adversary and attempted to finish him off.

Holding all the cards militarily, with no intention of honoring the result of the duel, and no longer entertained by the sport of it, Grievous ordered his battle droids to kill her and all of her sisters.

Yet despite being bested, Grievous ordered his battle droids to kill Ventress, forcing her to direct her attention to deflecting enemy fire.

His sudden reneging on the terms of the duel threw the battle into chaos, in which Ventress was shot in the shoulder by a droid.

As all-out fighting erupted on the battlefield between the Separatists and the Nightsisters, one laser shot slipped through Ventress' blades, hitting her in the shoulder.

The wound provided Grievous an opportunity to exploit her momentary distraction.

Grievous towered over Ventress, ready to finish her off.

Before he could execute her, a horde of Nightsister zombies intervened, attacking the cyborg general while Ventress stumbled out of his range.

Outnumbered, she has no choice but to retreat while Grievous gloats.

The Nightsister Luce grabbed the wounded Ventress and began carrying her away from the battle.

As Luce was getting Ventress away from the battle, she was shot in the back by a B1 Battle Droid.

Ventress swiftly destroyed the battle droids with the Force.

Ventress held Luce in her arms, as she stated that doom was upon them, and to run in order to save herself.

After Luce died, Asajj mourned her fallen sister.

Advised by her savior to flee in the face of their impending doom, Ventress — having seen so many comrades fall that day — retreated from the battleground and limped into the jungle mists, abandoning her coven.

Ventress limped into the forest while the Army of the Undead and the remaining Nightsisters were wiped out.

In the aftermath of the battle, Ventress wandered the Dathomirian wilderness alone and injured.

In the now-still Dathomir forests, Asajj survives.

A wounded Ventress stumbles in the Dathomiri wilderness.

Alone in the forest, Ventress experienced a specter of Talzin, communicating from the realm of spirits informing her that the battle was lost.

Ventress learns her people have been wiped out and blamed herself for the eradication.

Once again left alone, Asajj questions where to go and what to do now.

Talzin encouraged her to continue her life before again dissipating in a green mist.

Although the younger Nightsister pleaded with her not to leave, Talzin insisted that she move on from this chapter of her life and follow her own path.

Devastated, Ventress screamed for Talzin to return but was instead left alone in the forest to forge her own path yet again.

An anguished Ventress begs for Talzin but the Mother disappears.

Ventress saddened after being abandoned thinking she was the last survivor of her order.

In the wake of the massacre, with her destiny always be tied with that of the Nightsisters, Ventress was left alone.

Oked approached her and tried to strike up conversation.

Ventress was propositioned by the bounty hunter Oked, who she soundly dismissed.

One of the patrons makes a pass at her, and when he does not take kindly to her rebuffs, Ventress is forced to emphasize her point.

Ventress murders Oked for his aggressive propositioning.

When he continued to harass her despite being rejected, she casually impaled him with her lightsaber and continued drinking.

Asajj tells the deceased Oked that she's not much of a talker.

The bartender gives Ventress a drink as compliments of a lizard bounty hunter.

Upon this, she is invited by two bounty hunters, Bossk and Latts Razzi, for a drink.

Asajj is called to a back booth by bounty hunters Bossk and Latts Razzi.

Bossk and Latts tell Ventress they have a problem.

Ventress inquires about their problem while gripping her lightsabers.

They informed her that Oked had been a member of their syndicate of hunters and Ventress feigns forgiveness.

They like Ventress' style and ask her if she ever consider being a bounty hunter.

Bossk insisted that Ventress join in Oked's place given that she was the reason for the newly opened position or they would deliver her to the authorities.

Having no other direction or plan, Ventress agreed.

Bossk and Razzi escorted Ventress to their Mos Eisley safehouse.

In a Mos Eisley slum, Bossk and Latts add Ventress to their merry band of bounty hunters lead by the teenaged Boba Fett.

Ventress made her displeasure at having to answer to the adolescent Fett known immediately.

Boba asks for her name, but Ventress states she doesn't have one.

Ventress clashes immediately about his youth and the resultant lack of skill she perceives in it.

Ventress replied that she wished she didn't know what it felt like, having also been taken from her life at a young age.

Ventress, who had recently suffered a heavy loss of her own on her homeworld, ultimately sympathized with the siblings' plight.

Boba enters the tram and tells Asajj he needs her in the back.

Ventress contemplates her mission but obeys Boba's command.

Ventress tells Pluma that she was right that she is only another job to her.

Ventress commands Pluma and Krismo not to move.

Ventress leaves the siblings in the darkened cabin to join Boba in the back of the tram.

Finally, the tram arrived at the orbital station, where Otua Blank was eagerly anticipating his bride-to-be.

As his guards went to retrieve the box, she demanded the credits first.

Asajj delivered the container on her own to Otua Blank at his fortress and was presented the bounty.

Ventress is shown the bounty, Blank's payment of 600,000 unmarked credits.

She received them and got back on the train.

After receiving her payment, Asajj takes her leave.

Later, halfway back to the station, Ventress took Pluma and Krismo to the very back of the subtram where she stated he pay her price first then he gets the girl.

Krismo signaled a Milodon while Ventress held Pluma.

The Kage warriors arrive on the tram with their milodon.

Ventress forced Sodi to have the Kage Warriors pay a ransom for Pluma's release.

Sodi was hesitant finding Ventress to be untrustworthy.

Krismo nonetheless agreed and had the Kage pay the ransom.

Ventress honored the agreement and let Pluma go.

Before departing on a milodon alongside her brother, Pluma thanked Ventress for her mercy.

When Ventress got her additional credits from the Kage, she released Pluma, who thanked her before the warriors departed.

Ventress watches the siblings leave from the tram.

Ventress watches the Quarzite scenery yearningly.

Asajj returned to the skyhook turbolifts to meet the remaining members of the bounty hunter team in the space station above.

Following the Quarzite job, Ventress returned to Tatooine and frequented the Mos Eisley Cantina enjoying the company of fellow hunter Latts Razzi.

Ventress was sitting in a cantina with Latts when she reacted to the door suddenly opening.

Razzi was later seen back at Chalmun's sharing a table with Ventress and was worried that her new associate was on edge.

Ventress became increasingly wary of a presence from her past by gripping her lightsaber.

Even the arrival of new patrons startled her and Latts questioned her reaction.

Ventress tells Latts she's not sure.

Ventress told her that she had thought that she sensed someone from her past.

Latts question who is this someone occupying her thoughts.

With further questioning from Latts, Ventress specified that the being she feared was a monster.

While she was enjoying a drink alone in the cantina not long after her work with Fett's syndicate, she overheard bounty hunters gathered around the cantina transmitter discussing a particularly valuable target: one million credits in exchange for the capture of Savage Opress.

Although another hunter intended to take the job, Ventress pushed her way towards the transmitter and insisted that this particular bounty was hers.

Having recently been plagued by shadowy disturbances in the Force, the source of them being Opress, Ventress claimed the bounty for herself.

She found a Turtle Tanker starship preparing for takeoff.

Just before the Turtle Tanker takes off, Ventress has landed on the planet, found their ship and hitched a ride.

Assuming Opress was within, she jumped onto the hull of the ship and climbed aboard as it lifted towards space.

Ventress hid in the upper reaches of the vessel's cargo hold, where she discovered Obi-Wan Kenobi being beaten and tortured by none other than Darth Maul.

Savage intended to relish his vengeance but is exquisite moment is cut short by the cackles of Asajj Ventress.

After the ship was airborne, Ventress revealed herself to the two brothers.

When Opress returned from the cockpit to join Maul's torment of Kenobi, Ventress revealed herself.

Ventress insults Savage's brother telling him he's half the man Opress is.

Appearing before the two brothers, Asajj taunts them.

Ventress states she was looking for a challenge not some wretched cast-offs from the Nightbrothers clan.

Ventress taunted the brothers before vanishing into the darkness of the cargo hold once more.

Ventress had in fact remained in the hold to comfort the unconscious Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ventress returns to an unconscious Obi-Wan and lifts him up.

Moments later, Ventress managed to wake up the unconscious Jedi by slapping him.

Asajj slips past them to shake Kenobi awake.

The Jedi was shocked to see his old adversary, as she was still widely believed to have been killed at the Battle of Sullust.

With the battered Jedi Master left unguarded, Ventress quickly came to Kenobi's aid and brought him to his feet.

Opress quickly returned, however, and surrounded Ventress and Kenobi.

Despite the sudden change in roles, the two quickly accepted one another as necessary allies in the fight against Opress and Maul.

The two brothers returned to the cargo hold with Maul activating his lightsaber to confront the Jedi and Ventress.

Left with no choice but to work together, Ventress handed Kenobi one of her lightsabers.

Asajj tells Kenobi that she wants her lightsaber back after this.

Ventress roused Kenobi, and gave him one of her lightsabers, to defend himself when the brothers come back.

Obi-Wan activates Ventress' red blade preparing to battle.

When they returned, they found that she had come to Kenobi's aid, supplying him with one of her lightsabers to make a stand against their common foes.

A lightsaber duel began, with Opress pitting their combined strength against Ventress and Kenobi.

The two engaged the brothers in lightsaber combat.

It wasn't long before the two were confronted by the brothers, and a fierce lightsaber battle quickly ensued in the cramped interior of the tanker's hold.

In the course of the battle, Opress crossed blades with both the Jedi Master and the bounty hunter, mainly focusing on the latter combatant.

Maul engages in a lightsaber duel with Kenobi while Ventress duels Savage.

The four combatants engaged in a lethal duel, with the Dathomirian engaging Opress and the Jedi battling the disgraced Sith Lord.

Ventress held her own against Opress trying to use the Force on him.

Savage tries to stab Asajj with his double-bladed lightsaber but she dodges the attack.

Obi-Wan noticed that she was starting to lose from her battle with Savage Opress.

Kenobi calls out to Ventress who turns to face him.

Kenobi was able to retrieve his own lightsaber from Maul and returned the loaned red saber back to Ventress.

Once Kenobi reclaimed his own lightsaber from Maul and returned Ventress' lightsaber to her, Opress engaged her in saberlock after saberlock.

Maul and Opress battle Kenobi and Ventress aboard their Turtle Tanker.

With one of Ventress' lightsabers, Kenobi managed to use the Force to take his lightsaber from a furious Darth Maul, passing Ventress' lightsaber back to her.

Unfortunately, the unlikely duo's combined efforts weren't enough to fend off the two brothers.

The duel continued until both the Jedi and Nightsister realized they were outmatched.

Ventress reacts sarcasmly when Kenobi tells her he learned to run from her.

Both decided that it had become necessary for them to flee.

Eventually, Kenobi and Ventress concluded that they were outmatched and decided to retreat.

Kenobi and Ventress found themselves outmatched despite their best efforts, and were forced to make a hasty retreat.

Maul attempted to breach her defenses with his brute strength.

While Kenobi ran for the cockpit escape module, Ventress held off Maul while he engaged Opress.

The duo switched places, with Kenobi battling Savage and Maul dueling with Asajj.

Ventress dodged around Opress' and Maul's blades.

Ventress back-flipped and pushed Opress towards the back of the cargo hold.

Asajj leaps into the air with assistance from Obi-Wan.

Ventress waves her hands and pushes Opress back through force of will.

Ventress runs from Maul to reach the Turtle Tanker's detachable cockpit.

Ventress flees to the command module of the Turtle Tanker and shuts the door.

They retreated to the cockpit of the ship and Maul stabbed his lightsaber into the door narrowly missing Ventress.

The two brothers try to cut through the airlock blast doors.

Not about to let their enemies run free, the brothers began to cut through the airlock with their lightsabers while Ventress yelled at Kenobi to hurry.

Kenobi activated the escape module function and detaching from the cargo hold.

The Nightbrothers almost cut through the blaster doors causing a fearful Ventress to panic.

Ventress rushes Obi-Wan to take control and ejected the cockpit into space.

The narrow escape rattled both Ventress and Obi-Wan.

Ventress walks away from the blast door shakened as she states that was a close call.

Following their narrow escape, Kenobi warned Ventress that the brothers would now be after both of them as well.

Ventress followed her new career as a bounty hunter and eventually began work out of a residence on Level 1312 in the seedy lower levels of Coruscant.

Ahsoka leaves the train station continuing on foot through a seedy level of the undercity but is spotted by a shadowy figure with a wraparound helmet that stalks her with great interest.

She eventually tracked Tano to Level 1313 of the undercity and followed her for a time until the young Togruta was alone in an alley.

The hunter follows Ahsoka to an abandoned, vermin-infested building in the lower levels.

The bounty hunter prepares to leap off the balcony.

As a cloaked Ahsoka walks through the alley, the masked assailant twirls on a wire.

She leaped from scaffolding above and tackled Tano.

Tano, wanted by the Galactic Senate for a large fee, and after escaping numerous underworld police, was seized by former Sith assassin — turned — bounty hunter.

Ahsoka is attacked and pinned by the helmeted hunter: the twin red bladed lightsabers identify the masked assailant.

She performed her work in a helmet with a retractable faceplate that obscured her identity.

She pinned her to the ground with her two sabers scissored over the Padawan's neck.

The bounty hunter laughs and presses a button on the side of her helmet.

Asajj Ventress reveals herself with some amusement that Ventress realizes she is going to collect the bounty on her longtime Padawan foe.

Ventress confiscates Ahsoka's remaining lightsaber.

After revealing her identity, Tano assumed it was Ventress who framed her for the crimes she was accused of committing, but the Dathomirian had no familiarity with the charges.

She only intended to find Tano to collect the Senate's bounty.

Ventress helps Tano off the ground.

Tano was ambushed by Asajj Ventress, now a bounty hunter.

Asajj smiles pleasantly as she captures the wanted Padawan.

Ventress took custody of Tano and escorted her towards the landing platform at Terminal 24 of the undercity transportation hub.

The young Jedi still tried to reason with her, insisting that a Separatist war criminal and Sith could not simply hand her over to the Jedi Council without retribution but Ventress had intended to hand her over to a bondsman to collect her bounty.

Tano remains defiant and states she is still a Jedi.

Ventress counters that she's afraid the other Jedi will not see it that way.

Ahsoka says she hates to admit it but Ventress is right and that she is going to need her help.

Asajj lifts her helmet and asks the Padawan in what star system does she think they'll ever be in to do that.

Ahsoka explains that a rogue Jedi has betrayed the Order and carried out the bombing.

Ventress laughs and says the Jedi aren't that holy after all.

Tano tries to hatch a bargain by appealing to a tragic commonality shared by Ahsoka and Ventress: both have been abandoned by their Order, since Dooku betrayed her and she has been presumed guilty by the Jedi.

She sympathized with Tano's position as a student abandoned and betrayed by her masters.

Ventress was still hesitant, asking the Padawan what can she give her that's better than money.

Tano promised to persuade the Jedi Council and the Senate to grant Ventress a pardon for her crimes.

The two struck an agreement; Ventress would help prove Tano's innocence, and in return, Tano would try to convince the Jedi and Senate to pardon Ventress for her war crimes.

This catches Ventress' attention, but agreed to aid Tano in her quest for justice provided the Padawan advocate for her pardoning to the Council and Galactic Senate.

Ventress tells Tano that if the tide turns against her, she won't forget the bounty that's on her head.

Ventress continues to hold onto Tano's lightsaber and the Padawan agrees to her terms.

Asajj and Ahsoka come to an understanding.
