Ash-hoon is a secondary antagonist from Fantasy Wars. He was the first hexer of the hordes of the wastes, the former advisor of Ugraum Grableg and the minion of Farrakh the demon.

Biography[]

Ash-hoon was the first hexer who was free to travel anywhere in the wastes without any fear as they didn't dare to attack him due to his knowledge, potions and spells, but he was not the type of person they thought he was. He was a calm, patient person, but they didn't know that he was also mean, manipulative, and achieved his goals through dirty means, such as intimidation, bribery, or murder. In the winter of 631 a.M.v. in one of the farthest eastern parts of the wastelands, not far from the village of Razgran, he found a special shaman's staff with two skulls and a red drum in a stone circle. These were left to him by none other than the head of the elven Great Council, Glenderin Essente, who was actually possessed by the legendary and evil demon, Farrakh, who wanted to get the hexer on his side, promising him great power in return, and he accepted the offer.

In the fall of 632 a.M.v,. a massive orc chief, Ugraum Grableg, wanted to unite the tribes of the Wastes to take over the world together, and Ash-Hoon saw the opportunity to carry out his own plans. The hexer visited Ugraum in winter, after defeating the leader of the berserkers, Besargar, who joined him and killed the chief of the orcish riders. He tortured and killed a goblin prisoner with his dark powers in front of the other orcs and golins, then greeted Ugraum and offered his services, which the chief accepted. The hexer was in a respected status and wanted to give useful advice to his leader, especially to obtain magical artifacts that could increase their power and since he felt the magical power, it was easier for the warriors of the horde to find the artifacts.

After the tribes and the horde were fully united, they wanted to launch the first big attack against the kingdom of Derenhalle, and this was the capture of Irand castle. Ash-hoon felt an evil magical force not far from them and realized that a witch once lived in the place, but now there was an orc hexer who tried to manipulate the horde's troops with various curses, but in the end they managed to kill him and get an artifact from him. Ugraum was initially pleased because the horde was attacking at a good pace and the campaign was progressing, but he noticed that Ash-hoon had started giving orders to orcs without the leader's knowledge. The chief was suspicious from the beginning, but he didn't attach much importance to him yet, he believed that the hexer was probably talking about magical or spiritual things to his orcs, but he was doing this more and more often and it was already becoming disturbing. However, he decided that he would deal with this later, for now he should focus on the campaign and the siege, and Ash-hoon fought against the humans with the other leaders of the horde. The capture of Irand castle was a great defeat for the kingdom of Derenhalle, as many troops were lost, villages were captured and looted by the horde. After capturing the castle, however, Ugraum looked for a much bigger target and decided to capture the capital, Freiburg. Ash-hoon was supported the great chief, who told him that the entire orc nation was on his side, yet there was no complete agreement between them as the hexer sensed a magical artifact nearby that he wanted to obtain for himself and the other hexers, but Ugraum told him that him, that the power of the artifact will not serve them, but the horde. The artifact was not far from the villages of Urakh and Jagerheim, in the Temple of the Marcus Blood, however the greenskins were unable to enter the building as it was protected by magical defenses that killed several warriors with its shockwave. Sho-doon, the main hexer of the goblins worriedly asked Ugraum what to do, who ordered his goblin archers to set fire to the temple, which had burned down. Ash-hoon then became upset, because the artifact was also destroyed, and told him to be tense that he would have remove the barrier in a few days, but the leader said that he did not have time for such things and would destroy everything that stood in his way. This was followed by the battle against King Victors and his army and the siege of the capital, where the horde won a total victory over the kingdom of Derenhalle, but they quickly moved on because Derrick Pfeil and his mercenaries were already on their way.

Then the horde attacked the kingdom of Leranse to the north, where a much more serious and well-prepared force, mainly knights, was waiting for them. Initially, the attack stalled, but eventually the greenskins managed to break through and capture a merchant, who told them for the mercy that not far from them some foot knights were carrying a heavy object that they were supposed to take to King Stephan's court-mage, but they could only move slowly. Ash-hoon sensed that it was going to be an artifact that they could get, and then ordered the guards to get rid of the merchant. Since the place was not far from them, Ugraum thought they had time for that, so they attacked the knights and killed them and got the item, which was indeed an artifact, and Ash-hoon was grateful and glad that the chief listened to him, who he said that as long as he and the horde use his power and the artifacts, he will get them, but not always. At the same time, distrust arose again in Ugraum, because after they successfully conquered the land of the knights, he noticed that Ash-hoon was talking to someone, calling the unknown master, while his eyes and staff glowed red. The orc chief demanded to know who he was talking to, but the hexer said he wasn't talking to anyone, when in fact it was Farrakh who addressed him through the hexer’s staff. He ordered one of the first hexer's apprentices, Rag-zoon, to stay in the area with an army, defeat Derrick and bring the his head to the chief, and he could keep the looted goods. Ugraum then advanced with his horde towards Verson.

The forces of Leranse then prepared for a serious counterattack with many soldiers, knights, and especially eagles, and Ugraum saw that his only chance of victory was his allies, the pteranodon riders, to whom he wanted to signal from the De'Vandor' castle. Ash-hoon, on the other hand, sensed an artifact again, namely in the Snake Swamp near the castle, but the orc leader was a little nervous that he had to search caves in addition to a serious battle and told the first hexer that he would do it, but not to play with his patience. After killing the humans in the area of the cave, Ash-hoon and the other orcs went in and indeed found an artifact again, while Ugraum captured the castle and ordered his warriors to send the signal. The army of Leranse launched the counterattack with many eagles, but the pteranodon riders arrived in time and easily killed the birds along with the hexers while the horde defeated the knights. However, after the rest of the territory was conquered, a goblin sneaker approached the orc chief and told him that Derrick Pfeil was in the territory of Leranse, killed many orcs, including Rag-zoon, and was on his way to Verson. Ugraum was angry with Ash-hoon because his apprentice had failed while he had time and strength to prepare for the battle and now they must hurry, otherwise Stefan and Derrick's army will unite and the horde will not be able to conquer anymore. Perhaps this sarcastic remark led to the first hexer feeling that the horde was now plenty strong for his own plans and it was time to get rid of the chief. Using Farrakh's power and a stone totem, he possessed an orcish rider and ordered him to kill Ugraum, which he nearly succeeded, but his right-hand, Besargar, killed the possessed rider and saved his leader. Ash-hoon didn't know what happened and spoke to the totem several times, but when he realized that the rider was dead, he threw it away and left it there.

After that, in the winter, King Stefan got fed up with the constant failures and decided to personally stop the horde with his own army and marched to clash them. Ugraum saw an opportunity to trap the conceited king, and Ash-hoon liked the idea, but couldn't understand how a king could be so reckless and stupid. The orc leader ordered the hexers to summon illusions that began to provoke the king and challenge him to a duel. When the enemy army approached and the illusions appeared, Stefan immediately started with his bodyguards, knights and generals and walked into the trap. Ugraum personally fought the king and killed him, while his valiant men were killed by goblins and orcs. All Ash-hoon asked for his help was to obtain an artifact from a dark altar not far from them, which was guarded by a renegade mage with his minions. The first hexer and the others defeated them and took the artifact, then aided the horde in their battle against the last strong army of Leranse. After bloody and long battles, the horde finally won, and Ash-hoon was happy that they won at the same time and got another artifact that will serve him, but Ugraum reminded him that the new item will also serve the horde and not him. They then conquered the entire area and headed in the direction of Verson. However, Ash-hoon started giving orders to some orcs again, but Ugraum started to get fed up and wanted to know what orders he was giving behind his back. The hexer told him not to question his word and that spirits were speaking through him whose words even he couldn't understand, but the orc chief didn't really believe in those things, he was more focused on his campaign.

The horde arrived in Verson, which was successfully defended by Derrick and his companions from the advancing troops, but the completely exhausted defenders and the civilian population fled, and they were replaced by the Knights of the Church. The attack of the horde progressed slowly, as they encountered extremely fierce resistance on several occasions, but eventually they reached the huge capital. Sho-doon felt a great and strong magical force in the city and believed that this power could only be controlled by Ash-hoon, so he decided that from now on he will serve him, and Ugraum cannot harm him. The capital was attacked from almost every direction and although the defenders held out until the end, the horde conquered Verson, where, as in Freiburg, they killed everyone they could and plundered some part of the capital of Leranse. Ugraum then wanted to march on with the horde to the city of Sylent, as he believed that the final obstacle that would separate him from world domination was to be overcome, but Ash-hoon tried to manipulate him to stay in Verson. He tried again to manipulate the orc chief with the spirits, but he had a stronger skeptical mindset and was not afraid of the spirits, and then he hit the hexer and imposed a punishment for wanting to command too much and making him wonder where he belonged. The leader of the horde withdrew his trust from him and the hexers, believing that he no longer needed them and declared that the horde would attack the city of Sylen. However, Ash-hoon successfully won over several goblins, orcs, and trolls, as well as the hexers, the most important of which was Sho-doon, whose trust in his chief was greatly shaken by his decision. Ugraum and Besargar attacked the territory of Sylent with their army, the last important forces of the people fought to the end, and at first it looked like nothing would stop the orc chief, only the city was protected, but then Ash-hoon and Sho-doon attacked the horde in the rear with the traitors. The leader became very angry and directly attacked Ash-hoon, who in turn tried to defeat the large orc with his magical power, who initially held out, but Sho-doon stunned him with a spell and some goblins took the leader to a distant place. But his loyal right-hand, Besargar, went after them, brutally killing some of the goblins and freeing Ugraum, who swore revenge against the treacherous hexers. Derrick Pfeil arrived just then, leading the army of the humans as a marshal, and with him were two companions, master Alfred Brennock and Father Dexter. They managed to defeat a part of the horde and the city was freed from the siege, but Ash-hoon could not be defeated by the soldiers, so the three heroes had to confront him, but they got an unexpected surprise. Behind the hexer, a dark purple hooded figure appeared who was none other than Glenderin and created a dark energy shield around Ash-hoon, who was not affected by Alfred and Dexter's spells, and then wounded Derrick with his gaze. It looked like two of Farrakh's minions would win, but then Teya arrived and used a spell to destroy the shield and make the two villains disappear, then healed Derrick and told the others what they were up against.

After that, Glenderin created a huge demonic citadel next to Verson, this was Sumgan, which meant evil place, and meanwhile, in the area of the knight's capital, the knights and the elves brought by the head of the elven high council began to turn into possessed, infernal warriors and kill everyone they could. The city of Verson was completely destroyed, the area became a volcanic, desolate wasteland, and Ash-hoon waited with his minions for his master to finally return. However, Ugraum wanted revenge on the first hexer for his vile and fatal betrayal, so he, Besargar and his remaining loyal warriors, went to Sumgan to find and kill him. Only Sho-doon, who was at Le Venlo Castle with his goblin army, knew where he was, but the two great orcs and their warriors killed everyone they could, and the goblin hexer offered to take them to the traitor. However, this was just a lie, the goblin hexer brought them to Ash-hoon so that the two of them could kill Ugraum more easily, and the infernal warriors were already waiting for them, but the orcs cut their way through them. After Sho-doon was killed by the angry orc chieftain, the first hexer made an attempt to escape his doom. He told him that on Farrakh's side he could get a power that he could not even imagine and that he could use it for his purposes on the side of the horde, but Ugraum was not interested in that, he valued the success and power he had achieved himself, and then came the a fight he had been waiting for.

UgraumRevengeAshoon

Ugraum destroy the key of the sarcophagus of Farakh and almost kill Ash-hoon for good.

Ash-hoon tried to defend himself with his magical powers, but Ugraum was resistant to the spells and finally pierced Ash-hoon with his greatsword, who fell to the ground and began to twitch until the orc leader killed him with a final blow, and not only he died, but his staff was also destroyed, along with Farrak's demonic power within him. The first hexer tried to defend himself with his magical powers, but Ugraum stabbing Ash-hoon with his greatsword, who fell to the ground and began to twitch as he tried to absorb the power of the key of the sarcophagus, until the orc chief struck him down and destroyed the artifactand it seemed that Ash-hoon was dead too, but in fact he was alive, but close to death. After Ugraum and Besargar left Sumgan, the hexer came to his senses and helped Farrakh in his further plans, who after Glenderin broke the first seal was able to partially return, but as a shadow and did not possess his original body. The demon wanted an army, so he possessed many of the humans and elves who attacked them, who were the soldiers of the damned and infernal legions and killed anyone who wasn't on their side. He then possessed and killed a flame guard and a dragon, then sealed their souls and bodies in crystal totems that gave him the chance to use their abilities. Ash-hon and his minions also helped in killing the enemies, but he was wounded during one of the fights, and his orcs took him to the citadel of Sumgan, where Glenderin healed him. After the victory was certain, Glenderin came out of the tower and the two villains saw that their master was almost able to return to his original body. However, the demon wanted a third totem and chose the elf as his victim, who was very surprised and tried to convince his master to choose the orc hexer instead, but the demon wanted him and Glenderin tried to defend himself, he didn't have much of a chance. Afterwards, Farrakh returned to his original body and looked like he would win the final battle, but was eventually defeated by Derrick Pfeil with Marcus's sword. After that, Ash-hoon was never seen again, his fate unknown.

Personality[]

Ashoonhordeincite

Ash-hoon incites the warriors of the horde.

Compared to most orcs, Ash-hoon was more calm, intelligent, manipulative, and curious. What no one guessed, however, was that he was extremely power-hungry. The highly respected hexer was capable of anything for power, be it conspiracy, betrayal or murder. Even with his own secret mission, he wanted almost any artifact for himself and tried to convince Ugraum every time, but he didn't always see the point of chasing the artifacts.

Powers and abilities[]

Ash-hoon was perhaps the most notorious hexer among the orcs, and it was no coincidence that his name was known even among mages. The old orc had great magical power and could use several spells. He was able to summon spirits, especially spectral wild boars, great, bloody eyes, curse or freeze several enemies at once, control the bones of the dead with magical power, cast terror on his opponents, create tornados or use dark magic. He was also able to use a spell called the word of death, which he used to summon the dark spirits of death that could kill his opponents. In addition to these, Ash-hoon could kill very effectively with his magical power, mixed with Farrakh's demonic essence. With his staff, he was able to kill several opponents at the same time, but there were times when he was able to cause pain or even kill someone with just his gaze. Despite not being a professional melee fighter, he was able to defend himself at close range compared to other hexers, unless his opponent was much larger and stronger than an average human.
