Ash Gordon is the overarching antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Solving for the Unknowns". He is a misogynistic bartender who drugs his female customers' drinks so their dates can rape them and he can watch later.
He was portrayed by Daniel London, who also portrayed Stan Potolsky in Gotham.
Biography[]
Ash Gordon is a freelance bartender and former chemist who had been kicked out of medical school for his unethical tests; he nevertheless carried on with his hobby of mixing and testing various drugs, making them untraceable. Through his tests, he created drugs of his own design and tested them by spiking women's drinks; he would also make money on the side by charging male customers to rape the women he used as guinea pigs. The women would become dazed due to the drugs and suffer from memory loss, allowing rapists to take advantage of them and leave them without any memory of what had had happened.
Gordon's drugs are incredibly heavy and one of his victims has a stroke because of it after she is raped. The stroke leaves her paralyzed and brain damaged. When one of Gordon's clients, serial rapist Luke Mitchell, rapes a woman after she is drugged by Gordon, she goes to SVU upon realizing what had happened to her. Their investigation leads them to discovering Mitchell as her rapists, which leads them to connect him to Gordon. They make the discovery that Gordon had supplied Mitchell and numerous other rapists with drugs, in which he used to drug women with so that they could be raped. The detectives discover numerous encrypted videos in his computer of the rapes, which he had the rapists film for him to keep. He took sadistic enjoyment in these videos and thought of them as his "clinical trials".
The detectives set up Gordon and Mitchell to meet and they discuss the business they had done together, giving the detectives the proof they need to move in. Gordon angrily blames Mitchell for setting him up and punches him, but is restrained and arrested. After Mitchell was Gordon makes a deal with the detectives and gives them the names of the rapists he served in exchange for a lighter prison sentence.
Personality[]
Ash Gordon is a sadistic, greedy, and violent individual, taking pleasure in testing his drugs on women so that men can rape them. He enjoys watching videos of the rapes and becomes violent towards Luke Mitchell when thinking he had sold him out.
