Ashton Banks in the secondary antagonist of the 2016 Lifetime film, Breakup Nightmare.
He was portrayed by Daron McFarland.
Ashton Banks runs a revenge porn site known as LifeRuinerz.com. The site attracted a large misogynistic crowd dedicated to shaming and harassing women they perceive as "whores". Ashton expresses no guilt for the damage he causes and seems to feel he is above the law and untouchable.
The events of the film start after Ashton discovers naked pictures of 19-year-old Rachel Light, who posed for the pictures for her boyfriend Troy. He posted the pictures on his website, along with messages shaming Rachel for "breaking Troy's heart" when she dumps him for cheating on her. This causes Rachel to be harassed by strangers and ostracized by the community. The police are also unhelpful, susceptible, unaccommodating, and unsympathetic, saying that laws had been unbroken.
When Rachel retaliates and threatens to ruin Ashton if he doesn't take her pictures down, he responds by posting a message on her LifeRuinerz page about her threat and warns Rachel's mother Barbara to mind her own business, along with a sexual comment.
But after further threats and an attack that leaves Rachel injured, the police are finally able to apprehend Ashton. But at the end of the film, he sends messages to Barbara and Rachel promising that they haven't seen the last of him.
- Ashton is presented as the main antagonist of the movie, but this is done in an attempt to hide the true antagonist.
