Astaroth, also known as The Charred Duke, is the secondary antagonist in Diablo IV. He is a demon lord and an accomplice of Lilith.
He was voiced by David Lodge, who has also voiced Yaldabaoth in Persona 5, Derek Clifford Simmons in Resident Evil 6, Loki in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, Villamax in Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, Archimonde in Warcraft, Cao Cao in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Grigori in Dragon's Dogma, Arlo Woodstock in Bigfoot Family, Barbed Wire Org in Power Rangers Wild Force, Izout in Power Rangers Time Force, Tichondrius in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Parrotmon in Digimon, Cloning Arrancar in Bleach, Grog in Team Hot Wheels, Nicollo in Swan Princess: Royally Undercover and Valkog Drazer in Rogue Galaxy.
Biography[]
Astaroth was a duke of Hell, who invaded Sanctuary during Days of Ash. He razed most of Scosglen, including the druid college of Tùr Dùrla. Eventually, he was imprisoned by Donan and the druids Airidah and Nafain in a Soulstone.
In 1336, Astaroth was freed from his prison by Lilith, so he could give her a safe passage through his domain. Lilith additionally gave him a host named Yorin, son of Donan.
Astaroth later appeared in front of Donan and The Wanderer. He fought with them, but was defeated and send back to Hell.
Astaroth later met with Lilith, after she killed Inarius, and let her pass through his lands.
