Astarte and Anat are the secondary antagonists of the 2016 live-action movie Gods of Egypt. They were the two sister goddesses of war and Set's top hunters.
They were portrayed by Yaya Deng and Abey Lee respectively.
Biography[]
After Set took all of the power in Egypt after becoming the king by killing his brother Osiris and blinding and banishing Horus, Astarte and Anat became his top hunters and were ddtined to stalk all of their master's targets. After Bek atole Horus's eye and freed Horus, the two protagonists went to destroy Set's power in his pyramid and after the failure of Mnevis and his further death at the hands of Set, the tyrant sends the warrior goddesses to hunt down and kill Horus and Bek.
Astarte and Anate chase the two protagonists through the desert on their gigantic sand snakes and the heroes were forced to flee from them, being unable to defeat the monsters. However, eventually the protagonists managed to defeat the hunters and their giant snakes by luring Anate to the cliff where Horus managed to throw the goddess from the cliff both with her monster. While Astarte was killed when Horus's lover Hathor, the goddess of love arrived and Hathor took control over the mind of Astarte's snake and forced the beast to burn itself, killing Astarte.
