Astrid Bartos is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Danae Mondesí) of the Netflix series Welcome To Eden.
She is the founder of the Eden foundation and Erick's wife who manipulates Zoa, Ibón, Charly, Aldo and África into staying.
She is portrayed by Amaia Salamanca.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Astrid had a father by the name of Dr. Florián Bartos, who would dedicate his entire life to studying climate change but died in a car accident. A big fan of the natural environment herself, Astrid wanted to follow in her father's footsteps. She and Erick met during a party and went to college together, before getting married and finding a new family in their home, Eden, founded by themselves.
Season 1[]
Astrid was first seen supervising Mayka, the person in charge of the I.T. room, coordinating the invitations for the Eden festival, among them Zoa, Ibón, Charly, Aldo and África, saying that they didn't know what's awaiting them. The morning after the festival, Astrid and Erick discussed the five people they have chosen. Erick placed his bet on Zoa because of her vast knowledge in biology that could keep balance in the island while Astrid on Ibón who was responsible but sensitive. Astrid then greeted the five guests and proceeded to show them around the island, but Aldo was highly suspicious of her intentions.
Eva, who was awarded for her loyalty to Eden, chose Zoa for an evaluation in which she shared with Astrid and the others about how she had to take care of her sister Gabi herself after their parents divorced; their father usually travelled for work and their mother was a heroin addict, something that made Zoa feel bad about Gabi because she would get excited everytime she left the rehab clinic, only to relapse again. Astrid then had Zoa repeat out loud that her mother hated her before hugging her.
