Asuka Hatoda is a major antagonist in Yozakura Family. He is the main antagonist of both The Flower Bin Arc and The PoPoPPo Arc. He is the president of a toy store company owner aspiring to marry Mutsumi.
Personality[]
When it comes to his external appearance, Hatoda is quite appealing and endearing. In an effort to win Mutsumi's love, he challenges Taiyo Asano repeatedly. He is also very persistent. When he is furious, he also exhibits harsh language, is impolite, and goes mad, making vulgar gestures and expressions. He thinks that by bringing happiness to all children everywhere, we can change the world. In order to do this, he has no qualms about utilizing his strength, intelligence, and wealth to commit crimes for the greater good.

Past[]
At the age of 14, Hatoda took over as the third-generation president of the global toy store "PoPoPPo". PoPoPPo is also a criminal consulting firm which makes counterfeit money, secretly sells missiles, uses the mafia to threaten politicians and hires couriers.
The Flower Bin Arc[]
He was the one who hired Hanawa to capture Mutsumi for him, he stated he’d even sell his soul for Mutsumi for unknown reasons at this point in the story. In the next arc it’s revealed why he really wants Mutsumi.
The PoPoPPo Arc[]
We are introduced to Hatoda himself when he’s stating what he wants for his business, that being to make all the children of the world happy with his toys. He quickly states that there are two things he wants, that being the children to be happy and then he hacks into the Yozakura Family tv and greets himself and asks Mutsumi to marry him. Mutsumi then turns the tv off, but then goes back on stating he’s spent a lot of money to infiltrate the mansion. He soon shows himself as a big criminal who makes counterfeit money, sells missiles, and uses the mafia to threaten politicians. He says he was also the one to hire Hanawa to kidnap Mutsumi for him.
He believes his schemes are completely nessecary to make all the children of the world happy, believing he’s changing the world in doing so. He says that the counterfeit money destroys black markets and supports charities and supplies mass weapons to troublesome organizations to take them all out. He continues to try and convince Mutsumi to marry him because the Yozakura Family will mean he has even more power, but Mutsumi tells Taiyo she never mentioned him because of how creepy he is. He then soon goes insane when Taiyo calls him out and calls him a jerk, having a breakdown in the process. He then challenges Taiyo to a fight at his main store or else he’d rain missiles all over town. He then says he saves lives daily but doesn’t mind killing others.
Taiyo soon enters the building of the main store and Hatoda greets him as if he was a customer of the store. He then introduces his best products such as an anti-lightning children’s umbrella and toy cars that are actually bombs. He also shows off bladed yo-yos and cuts the tendons of Taiyo’s shoulders and elbows. He then states he still wants Mutsumi before aiming for Taiyo’s neck with a bladed yo-yo. He then shocks Hatoda and soon after Taiyo gets home, he wants a rematch.
The next morning he greets Mutsumi with flowers and it’s shown he goes to their high school. He’s so creepy to the point he already booked honeymoon tickets before they even got married. However it’s shown he was actually transferred to their school, for the same reasons as before, wanting to marry Mutsumi. He then carries on by giving his new friends some gifts that are expensive and asks everyone around him if he is truly suited for Mutsumi. He then yells at Taiyo to boost his ego and calls himself god compared to him. The two then fight in P.E. and Taiyo is shown to lose every match. It’s soon revealed all this is a test by Kyoichiro to see who can protect Mustumi, with both Taiyo and Hatoda’s lives on the line.
If Hatoda wins the soccer match he’ll be able to shake hands with Mutsumi, thankfully during the match Taiyo catches the ball even though Hatoda cheated throughout every other match. Hatoda was shocked to find out because he was using superpowered shoes to make the match uneven and accused him of using a dirty trick. During his tantrum the shoes malfunction and he kicks himself in the end, and he’s hospitalized. As a result, the company stock has gone down since the incident due to the recalling of all the shoes.
Yozakura Front Lines Arc[]
We only see Hatoda when Kengo asks him to get him a sparkling water. Kengo then asks if something unknown will be made in time, to which he answers it will, but gets mad asking why he has to do this. Kengo then says that the Yozakura Family will forgive him if he helps them out and that Mutsumi is probably happy he is helping. He then massages his feet on request and Kengo states he might pick something up from Shinzo's latest weapons. It's later revealed he made a weapon for Kengo that are Kengo-chan Balloon Figures controlled by a micro chip to create look alikes of Kengo.
