Aswang is a native creature of Philippines that sucks the lifeforce of its prey, being very feared by the locals. Appears as a minor antagonist since the episode "Tsukomogami" of the series Las Leyendas: Creaturas Ocultas.

Appearance[]

He looks like a small or medium-sized anthropomorphic creature. He has a head similar to that of an insect (fly or mosquito type) plus it has a kind of "fangs" on the sides of a pale gray color, and some protuberances upwards (it looks quite similar to a skull, so it can be concluded that they are his ears). In the center, a dark gray trunk with dark red stripes emerges, and at the end, he has a section of 6 red fangs around it, with a reddish fang or spike also protruding from the hole in the center (which it uses to absorb the energy of its victims). He has a pale yellow sclera, and amphibian-style eyes (being a red line with 2 points). The neck has both light and dark red stripes. His arms are attached to its bat wings, being mostly pale gray and dark red. He has 3 fingers with red claws on each wing. From the belly to the legs, he has a dark gray tone and certain red stripes. His legs have only 2 fingers with red claws. On the chest, he has a pale gray tone with red spots in the form of drops.

Personality[]

Aswang is just a monster that has no empathy for anyone, and only likes to attack his victims in order to feed on their vital energy.

Biography[]

On a trip to the Philippines, Marcella's team went to hunt down the elusive Aswang, who is not seen by any of the members passing by an bridge. DB, about to explain the legend of the monster is interrupted by Marcella who concentrates more on capturing it. Sneaking in the undergrowth The Aswang watches Marcella and her friends argue: flying towards them to attack them surprisingly. Grabbing Cinnamon Bling's face he lets go when evades a beating from Tor, so the unicorn is knocked out, while the Aswang flies away from the group and walks under the timbers of the bridge, extending his trunk to inject Marcella. In a sudden act, DB beats his drum to damage the monster causing its sound waves to destroy the bridge; causing the team to fall towards the different bridges below. In it, the Aswang approaches Marcella as she screams in horror.

Is later revealed that The Aswang was dejected by Marcella and her friends taking him to the lair of The Brotherhood, without revealing the purpose of his capture.

When it was time to awaken the goddess Coyolxāuhqui, the Aswang was the last supernatural being left to drain his "enersob". Caged in a cell, Leo San Juan and his friends, under cover, free the creature to attack several of the members of the sect. After losing the fight with The Brotherhood, the Brother Upton forces Leo to look for the last missing creature and lock himself inside the machine to complete the rite. Tracking the Aswang, with a technological device that Upton gave him, he is caught by a bazooka that launches vines that Leo fired and delivered to those of The Brotherhood who will take care of putting it in the machine.

The moon goddess released by the absorption of energy, Leo, would resort to summoning the monsters locked up by The Brotherhood, telling them that they must form an alliance and prevent the earth from being destroyed. The monsters, including the Aswang, escape believing that there is no chance of defeating Coyolxāuhqui.
